Do we get the "Customized Action" automatically if we already have the Champion of Vivec Achievement, or do we have to do the whole thing again?

Sweet! I enjoyed the Vvardenfell questline and this looks like it will be a nice subtle effect recall that will be fitting for my nature-themed characters. :relaxed:

You should be able to claim it if you have the achievement already.

Excited to get the recall! I still need to work through EP to play Vvardenfell so I can meet Naryu first, so a little bummed to have to either skip it or rush through the Vvardenfell quest on another character. But it's been 10 years, so I'll just have to catch up lol, and maybe skip a lot of sidequests in the basegame.

I'm also excited to get the recall! And I'm happy that it isn't necromancer-themed, haha.

It'll be good to get back to Morrowind for some endeavors, too.

And you're giving away the Clockwork City DLC for free? That's so awesome! I really loved this DLC, and I was hoping it would eventually be free. It was such a fun story to play through. Thank you, ZOS!

Now Southern Elsweyr and The Reach/Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern will be the only zones I don't have unlocked when my ESO+ expires.

So you're giving the DLC, what about the loyal players who bought it long ago ?

IMO this whole “giving away DLC as a daily reward” thing needs to stop. The notion is appreciated, but if your goal in giving away content is to excite new and returning players, then it is a failure since none will see your article or benefit from this daily reward.

Convert very old DLC into part of the base game instead. Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood…. why are these basic guild quest lines still paid content in an Elder Scrolls game?? Jewelry crafting stations (Summerset) and transmute stations (Clockwork City) still require real money to use? At a bare minimum, these need to become part of the base game to not impede player activities or betray expectations of TES players.

It also certainly does not help when you have a massive list of paid DLC spanning a decade of content releases. You seem to recognize this given how you’ve released multiple DLC as daily rewards already, but the method is just not doing you any favors and is a missed opportunity to condense the long list of achievements categories in the game.

If they just turn DLC content into base game content, there is no need for the player to be there.

You’re not understanding. The players who ESO wants to lure in are not currently following the game. They don’t care. They’re gone, but there is a chance that in a year, or two years, or three years they’ll log back on. A daily reward is irrelevant to them, but having brand new dlc when they log in can excite them.

I think that Imperial City and Morrowind are the only DLC/Chapters that became base game. Every other "free" DLC has been an opportunity that came up for the people where were there at the time, and gone afterwards. People have to be here to get it. If it is in the base game, people don't have to be here. They might get excited, but they might also put off returning and ultimately figure that it will just be there whenever they do return. FOMO gets them here now, which is a step beyond just making it base game. It also encourages players to keep tabs on what ESO is doing in case there are more free DLC in the future.

I suspect it works because they keep doing it. So, yeah, I believe that I do understand.

Lmao sure, anytime a business repeatedly makes a decision it must be working perfectly!

Bottom line is that ESO is a video game. Sure there are some people for whom this game is more like a lifestyle instead of a video game, but most players who leave are not going to care at all about logging to a game they are no longer interested in. We don’t all live and breathe ESO.

Instead you wait for their curiosity to be peaked at a future date and reward them greatly for that eventual log in. You can’t force anything with non-active players. Plenty of other games have already learned this lesson but unfortunately ESO has not.

I think the DLC rewards are nice because it lets everyone join in the monthlong celebration.

It would be nice if some were added to the basegame like Vvardenfell, so that they can add returning content there (like they've done with Companion quests, prologues, and Scribing quests taking place in Vvardenfell now that it's basegame).
