Character Customisation

Hello everyone! I had two questions related to character customisation, if you don't mind?

1) Is there going to be a way to change faces or hair? I mean, my hair looks fabulous as is, but a girl wants a change sometimes, you know?

2) Are they going to implement a way to dye our clothing? If I see one more platinum blonde in green breton robes I shall literally scream. I, of course, look better than all of them combined (duh!) but seeing them looking like more haggard versions of me makes me think of cloning and I have... issues with cloning. Someone once cloned a thousand of me and that was incredibly annoying.

if you look on your character sheet you will see you have a costume box....only a single one....so I assume this is still a work in progress.

In addition you will notice your color palette...notice it is missing a lot of them and mostly has drab colors...in fact you cant even get very red for hair or orange.....obviously this is another thing being worked on...as no one has found anything to alter this stuff yet...thus it suggests they will probably have these things available in the future to extend or add too.

I hate to say this though...the way things work...this looks like they are planning on altering this game to a cash shop game.

As they dumbed it to far down to simply be getting this ready for consoles....I use a program to map the controls to a controller and I have way more space for things to map then they have commands right now.

After reading this, I'm so glad my platinum Blonde Breton doesn't wear green robes.

I'd like to know the answer to these questions. Particularly the first.

When I customised my ruggard Nord, the close-up bug was happening. All I could do was to get him to twirl in shadowy darkness and no facial closeups.

So I gave him the blonde hair of a Nord... not too blonde (I thought), just an off colour golden blonde. I put what I thought was a full face beard and mustache that befit a Nord of the high country. Gave him shoulder length hair that was the closest to what I thought was appropriate. Gave him a bit of a twirl, added a tatoo but couldn't see that it did anything. Pressed submit.

Got the peep out into a bit of sunlight and he not only has peroxide hair, but has a handlebar mustache!! He looks like Hulk Hogan!!!

Now I have an ageing wrestler running around Tamriel, trying to find a barber to revamp his look.

Man, I should have opted for the darker hair and mohawk. I might have got Mr T!

Sir Basil Ozarian - male Imperial Dragonknight Daggerfall Covenant (this character is titled, but not entitled!)

Im not a girl, still want to change my hair sometimes on my char ^^ Would be cool if there is a barber in town where i can change it for gold. I just get tired looking at the same dude all the time and rly like some customization once in while.

I don't think you will be able to change your face shapes but I'm pretty sure they will add like a hairdresser so you will be able to change your hairstyle.
    Add me in-game @DrHencz. [EU]

Barber would be so appreciated. And perhaps even the Sculptor from Skyrim, but that could be a bit too much. Also, maybe a tattoo-/scarification artist?

    I like this.
I made a big mistake during char creation and my lizard is extremely skinny... Looks like anorectical stickman.
I hope I'll be a le to change that. :P

Clothing dyes also, yes. But there should still be some way of separating clothes' level by their appearance :/

I hope that they will eventually let us change hair, acessory, and face/body painting at least. I also do not feel like changing my characters right now, but if they add more hair colors, hair styles, acessories and make up I will want to change my existing characters, not to make new ones with the new stuff.

I wait for the day when my main character will have black hair. Sigh...
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I think dyes should be made by alchemist!

I concur that the game should have dyes. Although I haven't had to wear those green robes, myself (and I actually love the color green :P), but I've seen tons of people wearing them.

It'd also be awesome if we could dye our armor, too. Basically, as much as I enjoy ESO, I'd love it even more if it took something like the dye system from Guild Wars 2 into consideration for implementation. I always loved the extensive dye system in that game - it was one of the best things about it.

I think that armor color should be one of the options when crafting it, and not be changeable anytime on the fly. Type, material, style, DYE, attribute. Maybe have another menu that we could use to dye an existing piece of armor by selecting the armor and the dye.
And dyes should be usable, not unlockable, IMO.
I want a system that makes crafting even more important.

I also made a boob with one of mine and, well, I made her chest a bit too big. She looks okay in light armour, but not heavy. It's kinda funny and I'm trying to not stare at her chest each time I log in, but it's a bit of a distraction (and I'm not even a bloke). Re-making the whole thing is a bit of a pain, but I think that's it. Maybe hair changes later, but I doubt the whole lot will be cheap, if they put it in at all.
If at first you don't succeed, keep trying. And again. Eat a cookie, read a wiki, I dunno, just try to relax, the frustration will only give you a headache.

Looks like I got lucky! I had the close-up bug while making a fair-skinned Imperial. Logged into the game and saw that he looks like the Old Spice guy, Mustafa  How he went from white to dark and handsome... I'll never know.

It made my day when I saw the horses are named "Diamond".

Yes, would love to see Armor/Clothes dyes.

Maybe it could be added as a Alchemy recipe, but the fact I am planning on mix/matching armor, it would be nice to be able to color them all the same, or even a different color.

Guilds could have set colors, etc.

Wow I just made a platinum blonde Breton because I kept running into Redheads exactly like my first character but i would like some color choices in clothing and face sculpting later on

It would be a little silly to figure that they're not going to include those features in the game as they've become pretty standard in other MMOs.

My hope is, however, that they try to preserve some of the lack of sillness they've expressed so far and not turn into Team Hat-ress 2 or WoW's ridiculous level of vanity engagement.

Keep it simple, guys - I adore the fact that I don't have a single piece of armor with a glowing unicorn flying around it so far.

I'd settle for something that will let me distinguish my toon from everyone else's in PVP. As it is, group us platinum blonde bretons together and I can't tell which is me unless I move.

I would like to see dyes added as craftable too. Not on the fly.

They could also, like enchants, be level limited. that way the paler and earthier shades would be low (any) level and the deeper and richer shades reserved for later.

Black and White would be for veteran rank gear only.

I too suffered from the no zoom bug. I made my Templar in the wee hours of launch. Thought she looked perfect! Unfortunately as soon as I got to a spot with direct light I realized she constantly looks pissed off.

Which for some characters would be fine but doesn't really fit with the gentle healer idea I had in mind. I guess she's mad people aren't getting out of the fire fast enough.

Well, I remember them saying at one point that they were working to add new hairstyles and options post-launch, so I can only imagine that would mean we will be able to change them in the future, too as is customary in that case.

As for dyes, I agree I want that as well, but I also want a much broader variety of gear. I don't care if it comes from full costumes like the disguises, or from the gear itself (preferably both) but I want more unique armor skins in the future. Also, I dojn't want to be relegated to robes for my light armor. Give me stylish light armor kthanks!

I'd like to see an in game barber to change your hairstyle and beard for GOLD. To change anything else (face, height, etc) that should be in the cash shop.

Also, I'd love a simple dye system, even if you can only change one color. Replace that green with red or blue so there is at least some variation. They could add a new dye station in towns, and dyes could be looted or crafted.
