PLEASE ADD RACE SKILLS?

Hello.

I've been playing since launch, and Zos has added many things over the years that I've enjoyed, but there's one thing that I've wanted most, race skills.

We have skills for classes, weapons, everything except race. I think it's time, especially now Scribing has arrived. It's kinda wild to think that spell crafting arrived before this.

When you go to choose your race when making your character, it's only about those few passives. There isn't as much diversity as there should be. Adding skills ( including ultimates ) to the race would add some diversity to the game.

Argonians should get a Hist-sap ability related to hallucinations due to drugs then?
What exactly are you hoping for?

Nice point, but I'm afraid most players don't care about it. You'll find a lot of "I don't care" ppl in ESO. And ZOS surely will only listen if a huge number of players scream enough.Even in this case mostly nothing will be done.

ZOS is deaf to low voices.

Argonians should get a tail swipe AOE attack.

Argonians should get the tail strike like clanfears had earlier.
Not against it as long as nothing close to meta, but beating some to their death with you tail in an BG is priceless :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I would rather not. Different racial passives already add some flavor at the same time as being a source of consternation when they aren’t what some players would wish (I too think that Bosmer should have improved stealth, but at least the passives they do have are good).

I think it’s better that ZOS continues to give us more options, as through scribing, so we can further customize our characters and their abilities as we envision.

These sort of changes 10 years into a game's lifetime are rarely going to be well-received.

Balancing new skills/sets is tough and asking for skills tied to a part of character creation is most likely going to lead to uproar for various reasons. Overpowered/underpowered/doesn't fit lore/doesn't fit personal lore are just a few of the reasons that people will take umbrage with this change.

This can be said about anything they've added, or will add to the game. Zos will continue to add content. Race skills seems like a logical step in the evolution of Eso, just like Scribing ( spell crafting ) was. I remember people saying positive, and negative stuff about spell crafting for years, yet, here we are.

The bottom line is, some people are afraid of change. What some people fail to realize is, without change, things become stagnant, and people get bored of the game. Eso will continue to evolve, and be a great game to play long into the future. 10 years strong and going! 😃

A race-based Skill/Grimoire/Script sounds good! I'd love to see more feline traits on my Khajiit character

While I do think your idea is nice, I think I'd prefer it if each race only had one fixed passive that fits that race from a thematic/roleplaying viewpoint but doesn't have a real impact on gameplay. Like an Argonian's increased swimming speed, for example.

Aside from that racial passive, you could then freely choose a couple of passives that are based on the ones that are currently in the game (or were in the game). Want to create a sneaky Shadowscale? Be an Argonian and choose passives that improve your Stealth, Crit Damage and Penetration, for example. Or perhaps you want to be a hardy Redguard that is truly one of the most talented warriors in all of Tamriel? You could choose passives that increase your Stamina, Weapon/ Spell Damage and Resistances or something.

Sure, there'd be a meta combination of selectable passives for all roles with such a system. But you could at least follow the meta with a race of your choosing.

To be honest I am not a huge fan of race abilities or even race passiva. It's a weird concept stemming from the first fantasy novels dating back to the 1940's or 50's that were based on pretty outdated perceptions of "race" widely held during these times back then (not wanting to open up a can of worms here, just sharing my thoughts on it so no need to linger on that point).

As far as I think race is intended to not be a decisive choice for a build and might only be of concern for end game content and this by design because many people chose their race because they have a preference for a certain "culture" or because they have a picture of how their character should look like. Some people create backstories for their character and race is part of that and these people should not be disadvantaged in how they play this because of some special race skills or too strong race passiva.

We have racial passives. What am I missing?

Do they want Offensive skills in addition to the racial passives? In addition to Psijic skills, vampire skills, werewolf skills, and probably other specialties I am not remembering ? oh yeah, Fighter's Guild and Mage Guild.

So, whats next? too many skill options, so expand the base bar to 10 before needing to swap? (which I would not mind)

How many different offensive skills does one character really need? Who uses them All currently?
