Completing Scribing on Additional Characters

Okay, so I have a question about what is needed to be able to scribe on additional characters. I completed the scribing quest on a 1st character. Now I'm trying to get scribing on a 2nd character. I was under the impression that there was just a simple introductory quest, and after that, scribing would be available on that 2nd character. I did that introductory quest, and it seemed like scribing was unlocked. But, the scribing altar and the doors are not lit up like they are for my 1st character. So, for my 2nd character, the scribing quest is now showing "The Wing of the Indrik." So, do I need to go through all those subquests and challenges to completely unlock scribing? If I don't do those subquests, will I have full access to scribing? If the doors and altar are not fully lit up, are there any limits to scribing?

I'm just confused as to what is needed to get full scribing on a 2nd character after completing it on a 1st character, and what it means for the altar and the doors not to be fully lit up.

You don't have to do anything other than the initial quest to start scribing. Doing the wings just gets you a couple of free scripts (which are only 10 gold at the vendor) and ink. And a free skill point when you wrap it up.

Okay, that's great. They really should allow the altar and doors to light up on additional characters without completing all the wings. It just causes confusion, like perhaps you'd get less powerful crafting. I personally wouldn't have allowed wing completion on additional characters -- such a waste of valuable time to go through all those quests / challenges again.

You don't HAVE to, but you can. That's like saying you don't want to be able to re-do zone story quests cause it's a "waste of valuable time" to go through all those quests again. Not everyone sees the same value in their use of time. For a lot of players, that 12 ink from doing the 4 wings again is much better use of their time than anything you may enjoy and vice versa.

Yeah, okay, I see your point, and agree with you. But, still, I'd like to see the altar and doors fully lit up without doing the wings. In my opinion, you should be able to select whether you want to do the wing quest or skip it, and if you skip it, the altar and doors light up, and the quest disappears (along with the chance for extra ink).
