Tarnished Nightmare sound effect needs nerf NOW

No I will not turn off ALL my sound effects just for this. My game should not sound like "a bottle factory exploding" as that one eloquent poster put it. The set is mechanically fine, no worse than any other annoying proc set (stacking is an issue), my eardrums would simply prefer to not hate themselves. Thanks!

I agree. That sound is horrible. And with every NB, which is 25% or more of the PvP population running the set it seems like every encounter we have begins with that horrible sound. And while they're at it, they could tone down the sound effect with Death Dealers Fete too.

it definitely seems to be louder the closer you are to the center of the proc (with the loudest being if you were the primary target)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Any time you get anywhere near a zerg or keep wall in Cyro, your eardrums will be packed with glass. If you leave the zerg, you will be targeted by every foaming ranged ganker on the field, and your eardrums will be packed with glass.

I think all procs should have a condition that they do 50% less damage when triggered outside of melee range.

Does this and anthle still ignore the "can't proc at the same time" rule ZOS made up for all other proc sets?

anthelmir is not technically a "burst" proc because it has a projectile travel time, it does not impact instantly (other examples would be sellistrix, velidreth, scavenging demise, etc which have telegraphs)

it deals its dmg all at once, but because it has a projectile travel time, it can be dodged

its not possible to dodge tarnished though because the proc happens instantly (burst with no telegraph/animation time), and this is the type of proc that the "burst cooldown" rule was included so you couldnt have say 2 of these happen in the same GCD from the same player

Change the freaking pitch already. Make it a more metallic sound vs pure glass.
Here $15, goat mount please. Not gambling or paying 45 : lol :
20% base speed for high ping players.
Streak moves you faster then speed cap.
They should of made 4v4v4v4 instead of 8v8.

The things making me want to stop after like 1500 hours of PVP straight is :

    - Fighting Sorc using either morph of Ward (Regenerating, Hardened.) for any reason.
    - Fighting Arcanist using Impervious RuneWard for any reason.
    - Tarnished Nightmare ( Set Functionality and SFX )

Help us, ZOS, Please . .

It's not fair to bow or ranged Magicka casters. Can't use all the shiny sets the melee characters get to use? Really unfair.

Trade offer! You range casters can have all the proc sets, but no more auto aim, and now all your stuff now has a half second cast time. Melee is now always instant and guaranteed to target.

Put the ZOS audio team in a sound booth with 24 hours of glass breaking. Then do the same to the PVP lead.

What auto aim? My bow doesn't auto aim. And lethal arrow already has a cast time.

Lethal Arrow won't even fire unless it's guaranteed to target, you only have to put your crosshairs sorta near the enemy, after that the arrow has a mind of its own. Watch the path of the arrow when you fire at a moving target. It'll even go through walls. Now try landing Templar jabs on uh. Anything. Or play any shooter.

I'll add that Lethal Arrow is a balanced ranged attack due to its cast time. I'm referring to things like the instant proc stack gankers that just use a Bow heavy into Poison Arrow, or everything MagSorcs do. Meanwhile, melee fighters have to contend with both cast times and attacks that can fire but completely miss (without being roll dodged).

I would like melee attacks to have a larger hit box or something like that. I find it difficult to hit people moving around alot.
Don't even get me started on trying to hit anybody with dizzying swing.

As a PVP healer who hears Tarnished go off at least 150-300 times a night, and as much as I get sick of hearing it, I say leave it as is. Why? As soon as I hear it, its my que to flip to my back bar, reactivate my betty to make sure it gets purged, rebuff my major resolve, and then get back to keeping my boys alive.

Its an irritating sound for sure, but once that serves as an audible que to go purge it and be done with it.

To be honest, Tarnished isn't even that good. I've tried a different setup on my bowganker and have had much more success with it than I did with Tarnished. Tarnished seems only to be good to have 1-2 in group if you want the sunder procc'ed before you make a coordinated hit on one or more targets.

While 50% is too much I actually think this is a super interesting idea, and could remove the melee-only requirement of many sets/effects. Bring back the old Savage Werewolf bow builds!

I think it's fair. The lazy ranged ez-mode gamers already have it very easy with their low effort 1-bar ranged gaming. If they lost access to all the good procs they might be incentivized to pursue more productive playstyles that aren't a total drag on the PvP scene. Imagine a world where you a load into a BG and your teammates are not 2 bowblades and a magsorc. This could be a reality.

OMW with my premade of 4 Wardens cross healing!

Which would still be infinitely better PvP than this range spam garbage. Why learn to PvP? Sit somewhere 100% safe, no risk all reward, press 1 button to attack, press 1 button to panic (should another player make eye contact). People keep asking for PvE mode in Cyrodiil, ask no longer, it's already here!

Can I have god mode now? My playstyle is that I have god mode. The game says I can play how I want.

Yes, lower the sound. I’m on ps5, and it sounds like my windows are shattering each time this set goes off. It’s worse when a group of nb’s try to gank you and it fires off non stop.

Also nerf how it procs from DoT skills. Annoying how the skill procs multiple times from one poison injection. You can’t expect all of us to run cleanse in PvP

This should be the case for all proc based sound effects. Take the old set prayer shawl. If a healer spams heals you get a shield every 2 seconds which comes with a sound effect. It's enough to drive someone bonkers after a long dungeon. If I see prayer shawl I just take my headset off and play w/o sound.

Same issue for big visual and sound effects created by some mounts. It's annoying.

We need an option to disable sound effects generated by sets or mounts.

They're at least nerfing Tarnished by putting a hefty 1.3sec delay on it. We'll hear it less often which is great, but the sound effect is still horrendously loud and immersion breaking.

In theory, because they do not test in Pvp conditions.

If you don't see siege, if you don't see meteor, if you do not see an entire 60 people group... then 1.3 is going to be well within lag range and you still have no chance.

In addition to that, your average nightblade is well practiced at counting/bashing before things land. As are many sorcs with meteor these days.

The sound effect is still horrendous and needs to be deleted.
