Thanks for random encounters

Been wanting to say this for a while, but after philosophising on the Molag Bal Paradox, I just have to: THANK YOU for random encounters.

They have become more and more enjoyable with each chapter, and it's those little details that make ESO so very special. Random encounters, non-mandatory dialog (for EVERY character in EVERY stage of a quest), environmental storytelling ... chef's kiss! <3

I too love these random encounters!

Thanks, OP, sincere topics like this make me so happy! Sometimes you’ll see a topic that starts out “Thanks for….” and I’ll think, “Oh, yeay! Another happy player who appreciates something!” only to discover I’ve been tricked into reading another complaint introduced by sarcasm. Why can’t people just calmly state what they think is wrong without being snarky about it? 😂

Yes, I've occassionally fallen for that, too ... :p

But no, I'm as blunt as an ogre's maul, I complain loudly and directly! >:)

Forgot something on my "this makes the world feel alive" list: being able to talk to NPCs after finishing a quest. Makes it feel like you actually made an impact, like quests are not just fire-and-forget.

(Also, some of the random encounters really know me well - I've been told by fortune-telling spirits that I'm far too strong to have any need for fortune telling. Trully wise an all-knowing spirits they are! o:) )

Darn, I know I'm kind of OTing my own thread, but it's just in the same vein as random encounters:

Whoever wrote that script (and the English voice actor) needs a raise. Made my day! :D

Reminds me of the side quest in BG1 with Albert, the boy who's lost his dog:

Well, despite the Counts of Skingrad having a bit of a history with padomaic forces, I didn't prod Calantius to see whether he would turn out to be a Dremora ... :D

Yes, this was an enjoyable difference from quests had killing, and achievements. It was relaxing, at least for a few minutes. Well done.
