Is it me or companions are stopping their mounts way too close to our characters now? Sometimes even almost on top of us.

And I don't think it was like this before.

Can someone confirm this please?

Yeah, their stopping point on a mount is way too close. They used to remain at a perfect distance where they seemed like they were with you as a friend, but also giving you and your mount reasonable space. Now they halt right on top of you and even if you move, they'll move back on top of you.

Meanwhile they run/ride at a huge distance from you. (I wish that was a setting I could adjust myself)

It's already been like that for a while. Let me look at my screenshot folder...

(I really hope that doesn't give ZOS the idea to create chimera double-seaters that are one animal at the front and another at the back...)

I'm more bothered by players who stop their mounts in the most inconvenient places, e.g. right in front of bankers, merchants, quest-givers, etc., completely ignoring the fact that it can ruin other players' games.
    PC(Steam) / EU / play from Melbourne, Australia / avg ping 390

Warden's bear was most annoying thing in the game. Especialy right in the bank house door or crafting delivery area.
It's a great thing they've fixed it and you can pass it through. And people were all swearing at the sorc for Twilight lol.
    Really sorry for my english

Yea it's been like that since before necrom was released. At least since high isle. They just stand too close generally too.

Maybe it's a ZOS ploy to get everyone to buy 2 person mounts because they're not selling enough of them?

Yup, mounted companion is routinely clipping into mounted character space.
