We need Telvar rewards for Cyrodiil and BGs.

I'm just making a small suggestion here and not anything that would make Imperial City redundant. If you want to get Telvar as fast as possible, the place to go should still be Imperial City.

Currently, all three formats of PvP (Cyrodiil, IC and BGs) award the other PvP currency in the form of Alliance Points. Why should they not award telvar as well?
I suggest a 95/5 split for Cyrodiil. Instead of getting 100k AP, you get 95k AP and 5k telvar. We should also receive a small satchel of Telvar each time we finish a daily BG (win or lose).

That way, we can all enjoy our favourite format of PvP and gain all the rewards from it! :)
(Incidentally, the PvE community will benefit too in the form of lower prices on Telvar purchased items. I don't think it's fair that newer players who are dedicated PvErs should have to choose between being forced to PvP or paying 3M gold for that PA Staff just so they can tank in their prog group).

Kinda would leave Imp City redundant. Tel Var is literally the only thing Imp City has going for it.

Assuming you don't lose the Telvar in Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds I may support this idea. Else, the PVP servers will be a lot more empty.

There is a big jump between newer player and needing PA ice staff for tanking in a progression group.

To be honest I have two objections:
    - Telvar is one principal incitement to play Imp City that is conveived as a multiplayer death match/capture the flag arena. Put telvar somewhere else and you reduce Imp City to a zone with less interest.
    - Cyrodiil is not about player kills as primary focus but about keep capture and player kills are just a means to that. You also get other rewards for player kills so no need to add further incitements to. It would even be contraproductive to have a direct currency grind for player kills because players might drop the other game objectives in favor of killing other players.

Which is why ZOS needs to do a major makeover for Imperial City.
Even when Gray Host is pop-locked, IC is a ghost town. The PvPers have voted with their feet.

    @AnduinTryggva
-If Imperial City was good enough, people would play it for it's own sake and not just for the Telvar. It needs a lot of work and they can always incentivise it by giving a reward box in the mail for every x telvar you earn from monsters and quests the way they do for Cyrodiil.
-I'd definitely want the telvar to be safe and not stealable by gankers. Maybe if it was in an rng box as a reward like they do with transmutes?

That's the problem. Players should want to play IC because it's fun, with rewards being incidental upside.

No PvPer would gain anything this way. If you need gold you can farm tel var right now, yet this would tank the prices.

If you want more rewards from cyrodiil and BGs, just leave out at that. No need to destroy what options we already have.

I agree that it would both leave IC a ghost town and kill the strategy part of Cyro in favour of mindless killing sprees. Also, it would render the currency completely redundant.

(And no, the PvE community would actually suffer from it, because PvE-ing in Cyro would be even more of a chore than it is now, since there'ld be even more incentive for spawn camping.)

That said, I'm not sure what issue this would actually solve. I'm a PvE person, so you bet I'm not good at collecting Tel Var stones - and yet I managed to get my fair share of Tel Var rewards, including my Xivkyn polymorph.

Because we already have Alliance Points (the green currency) as a cross pvp reward, I think telvars should stay as an IC only currency. However, I like your idea of potentially revamping how telvars is gained.

No. TelVar must stay exclusive to IC.

Hunting Telvar means hunting fellow players. When the endeavor about killing patroling horrors comes up I always do that one, often I solo it. But as soon as it's dead I quickly jump to Cyrodiil to avoid the lurkers hunting Telvar. They wait until you are done and then spring before you can bank your win. I don't like it, but it's part of IC, shrug.

These players aren't interested in taking territory, nope, just the coin. I can imagine groups waiting just outside of keeps for stragglers to kill and take Telvar. It would not help the PVP experience.

No, absolutely NOT! What's in the city stays in the city! People get tel var through daily rewards, I don't want to feel like my efforts in the city for tel var farming is made pointless by other ways of getting them. It's a UNIQUE currency and should remain that way!

I think the correct solution is completely opposite to OP's suggestion:

Have IC drop ONLY Tel Var as rewards (from both PvE and PvP kills).
Also remove Tel Var being "stolen" upon death - it's meant to act as an incentive to PvP, but instead acts as a disincentive to play in IC at all (because dying is punished so much) hence why in IC even more than Cyro/BGs people play uber-tanky builds or gankers.

(Also think it would be interesting if they updated some of the wandering bosses + central sewer boss to be stronger than a vet HM trial boss, and for those bosses to drop increased rewards if killed by players of multiple alliances, thus incentivising cross-alliance collaboration in exceptional circumstances.....and then when boss is dead they can all go back to killing each other!)
