Please give a toggle to make the screen stop spinning when crafting

Every time I craft the screen spins around my character before stopping. Please give us a toggle we can use to stop this movement if we choose. It causes me a lot of discomfort. Thank you.

I for one would be disappointed if they took this away, I've always enjoyed the spin and zoom on my crafters hard at work.

Now asking for a toggle, that would be more reasonable.

A toggle was what I had in mind but I wasn't clear in my post. I edited to reflect that. Thank you for your input.

I've noticed this also happening but to a lesser degree with my banker, too. Perhaps a toggle could prevent all screen movement with interacting with objects or npcs.

Using a low end graphics card like an 1030 lessens the effect a lot. A ryzen 5 2600g apu with no grapchis card also dampens the effect a lot

A built-in toggle would be fantastic!

Right now I'm using the "No, thank you!" addon to keep my character from turning, but sadly it's OoD and I don't think it stops the animation at crafting tables.

When I first started playing I was using only my ryzen 5 2600g and it’s graphics on the chip and I never noticed the spinning. Then when I eventually added an rx580 when they first came out, that’s when I noticed the spinning. I agree it’s annoying but also the result of high end graphics. Play on low end equipment and it’s not an issue.

I can't say that I've ever been affected by it. It just happens and I've always accepted it without much thought.
I have always just had an onboard graphics chip so that hasn't influenced anything.

I'm not going to downgrade my pc.

That wasn't what I was suggesting. Just putting my own experience into context.

I know and I thank you. I was referring to other posts suggesting using low end equipment.

    MY KINGDOM FOR A TOGGLE!!
Please, give us the option to stop having to spin for everything we do from Crafting to opening Reward Boxes, etc..
Why do we have to constantly move? As the OP had presented, I too suffer from much discomfort (nausea, disorientation and such) whenever my character does her crafts and inventory management.

Most recently, it was speaking with the FOX in the Scribing Quests.. WHY WHY WHY did the visual need to continue to move during Fox dialogue with our characters? It was so slight and slow... and I needed Gravol!:cry:

Looking forward to having some change to these things in upcoming ACCESSIBILITY preferences

I've been looking for an add-on that may do this but haven't had any luck. There was one but it's outdated.

I really hope they will consider this because it would be a great quality of life feature.

The interesting thing is that it doesn't bother my vertigo (now for many years giving me fits)- yes, I find it annoying, but otherwise it's (for me) harmless. I just got an update to No Thank You (from late last year - eh, I use minion but this addon isn't available through minion).

So tomorrow I'll see if it's now working with deleting mail (since that was the issue that made me disable it).

I got the 2023-10 version, and while it stops most camera turns, it does NOT stop the crafting table animation for me.

I like it as it gives a close up of our character's outfit that might otherwise not be visible at close range, eg lifting arms up. Handy when designing/ making a cosplay.

I def dont like the turning. If it gave me vertigo, i would def either downgrade mt graphics card or install a second cheapo graphics card and hook up to it to do crafting OR i might also set graphics to minimum settings to avoid the spinning. I dont like the spinning and a toggle would be great BUT until then there are things one could do and IF you dont wish to do them then the only person causing your vertigo is you.

It is not reasonable to expect a player to downgrade their system to try to prevent an action that is having an adverse effect, which probably wouldn't work anyway.

It is also not reasonable to install a second graphics card just for crafting. I don't think that is even possible and probably wouldn't work either.

It is reasonable to bring issues to the attention of the developers and request a quality of life feature to alleviate the problem.

Surely it is reasonable to bring things to the developers and ask for requests. Would never suggest otherwise. There are steps you could take until then to minimize your exposure. If I had vertigo from that spinning action I would certainly do whatever I could for the sake of my health. Anyone would.

Of course I take steps to minimize my exposure. I turn away until the screen stops spinning when crafting. But I shouldn't have to.

I actually don't mind being zoomed in on my character when crafting. It's only the spinning around part that bothers me.

Yeah, and it also doesn't allow deleting mail. Unfortunate.

I disabled the mail functionality in the addon's options and haven't had any problems with deleting mails, so far. I think ... now that I'm writing this I'm not even sure I have manually deleted any mail since the auto-delete functionality ... o:)

There's a few other (OOD) addons that claim to stop the spinning, have not given them a try yet, though.

If one of them works, maybe it would be possible to merge the functionality into No, thank you! (and maybe fix the mail thingy), but I have no idea how branching addons works / what the curtous way would be to do so without infringing on the original author.

Is this when the character turns for a second or two when you click on the crafting bench or something else while actually making something? Is it all crafting benches or just certain professions?

It's not the character that is moving. It's the camera rotating around the character when they interact with the crafting table.

There an add-on called Ntak camera that have an option to disable this effect. Is not the ideal solution, but at least is an small workaround while we don't have an toggle option.
