Maintenance for the week of November 4:
• [COMPLETE] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – November 6, 9:00AM EST (14:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EST (23:00 UTC)
I love the visuals, using portals, engaging voice acting, interesting quests (not just go here and collect this or kill that), rewarding rewards, enthralling story line.
This game just keeps getting better and better, thank you all the creators at ZOS!!!!!
Kinda feel the same too, it's a nice DLC so far.
I have not started the main zone quest yet, been running dailies\events, going through the scribing questline and just wandering\exploring.
The zone design is beautiful and I've been enjoying the scribing questline, about 75% finished, the NPCs and their VAs are well done. (Why is Nahlia NOT a new companion??? )
Some of the WBs are a bit trickier to solo and have interesting mechanics and patterns that need to be learned but they are a nice challenge. I haven't explored the pub dungeons yet except to run into Silorn to try the dungeon boss, he's surprisingly "fun".
I like the layout of the delves also, they feel much more like the devs tried to design locations other than "an old ruin", "some old caves", etc
The minotaur war boss and friends is a lot of fun but seem very rare to find for me.
Overall the planning and design of the zone seems to be good quality and so far I agree with you.
But I'm not close to finishing everything and I also went into it with very low expectations which helps with enjoyment, I try to avoid setting unreasonable expectations with content these days.
With most things, over-anticipation is the death of an experience.

Quests: Completed the entire West Weald zone yesterday, and I loved it all! Found 30 sidequests which I completed before starting the main quest. Also loved interacting frequently with a daedric prince.
Zone: Great zone visuals, good zone size, nicely inhabited zone, no empty spaces like Blackwood/High Isle had(with nothing, not even harvest nodes), no annoying roadblocks, good wayshrine placement, good world event placement, Skingrad is a great town(no useless running around).
World bosses: These were all tuned very well, the only one that needs quite some toning down is the healing one in the south. With too few people he is practically impossible to kill. But it is really fun to kill the world bosses!
World events: The mirrormoor incursions are great, though it can be hard to catch the starting rituals mini events in time. Fun to do, can see myself keeping active with these(unlike bastion nymic, harrowstorms)!
Delves: Most were quite large for delves, which is really good!
Public dungeons: Were fun to do, and not too complicated of a layout.
Gold Road launch: Awesome launch! No extra maintenances, no lags/server problems, and no major bugs(as far as I could tell).
Scribing: The Scholarium quests were awesome, I just hope ZOS makes some serious changes to make scribing usable on alts. And I feel we need different attack types for each skillline that has a grimoire attached to it. Meaning close character magic/weapon type attacks, ranged magic/weapon type attacks, and single target/aoe versions for all of those. Right now all the grimoires are WAY too specific to really play around with. (personally I love character sourced aoe's, like Impulse in the destruction staff skillline. And want to make one for every character I use.)
Skillstyling: Easy to use, good implementation. Not too many options for styling yet, but can't wait for more colors!
All things combined I'd give Gold Road a 7/10. West Weald a 9/10, scribing as it is now a 5/10. Awesome expansion.
Points of improvement:
-Would have been awesome if we, during the questline, could have chosen the region the wildburn seed had corrupted. With quests based on which region we picked.
-Would have loved some more sidequests.
-Scribing: script unlocks need to be accountwide.
-Scribing: Every attack type(see above) should be available as a base grimoire for every skillline.
-The "Abolisher" sword needs to be permanently available to players as a recall function/animation.
-"Adventurer across a decade" needs to be a title.
-Ithelia houseguest(did Hermaeus Mora really send her to my home?!?).
PS: Haven't done the trial, because I can't.
Edit: Added something about skillstyling, which I forgot to mention.
It’s been my favorite expansion since summerset honestly! Don’t think it’s controversial at all to say so! Maybe on the forums which are largely negative, but I love it!

It's not controversial at all. Forum posts don't represent a community consensus. The forums have become a place where players come to discuss problems they have with the game, IMO, so it presents a skewed view of things. Someone who doesn't play ESO and only reads this forum would think it's a total disaster.
Just like all things, unhappy customers are far more likely to leave feedback than satisfied ones.
Not controversial, lots of people love the new zone and system, it's the grinding old content that gets complaints.
I agree. Visually nice.
Main story was pretty slow and not that entertaining. Side quests are better. Grinding old content repeatedly for scribing is annoying. Low ink drops is the worst.
The music is good as well, particularly the bardic songs and the Skingrad Widow's Lament.
That Widow's Lament took me by surprise, and although you can read the poem of it on the scroll in the graveyard, I cannot seem to meet up with her singing it again!
I started the Scribing questline on Wednesday afternoon after reading all the kudos etc from posters here. I finished it just an hour ago.
Now THAT is my idea of a story line! If they were all like that I'd never have rushed through so many because they wouldn't have been so boring....
And btw, I have no use at all for scribing, but I'm going to run some of my alts through it just because it's a LOT more fun than most questing (especially in the base game). And I did very much enjoy "reruns" of the base game areas in a new quest line. Oh, I really do love West Weald - very lovely, fall is my favorite season (after winter), and having all that fall foliage makes me seriously happy.
