Nothing from resource nodes, yet, and I grab every one I see.
Does ink drop from all resource nodes? Runestones, Ore and Seams, Wood, Cloth-plants, Alchemy (mushrooms, flowers, water nodes)?

Yeah, people need more ink, but RNG is RNG. I think the drop rate is fine, and makes players have to think more strategically about what they want.
Do I think some sort of preview window would be nice? Absolutely. But if we're wishing for things, that's pretty low on my ESO priority list.

I've found them from every node type except water nodes. I rarely stop for those, but I assume they do.

The 4000 number gets thrown around a lot, because that’s the number ZOS has been giving when talking about how robust this system is. But sure, assuming 30 possible combos per grimoire, that’s 330 combos over 11 grimoires, or 990 ink. Unless some more of us stop engaging in regular gameplay and start parking our butts in starter areas to grind ink all day, that’s going to take a very long time to acquire… but hey, the traders are happy.

it costs less if your only adjusting 1 script (after you scribe it the first time, it costs 1 ink per script change, so 1-3 ink depending on how drastically your altering the skill)
that said, im in the same boat as you, i usually play 4+ hours a day and ive gotten 4 ink drops in total throughout normal gameplay, and 2 of those drops were 30 min of actual grinding material nodes (the other 2 i think were random mob drops)
and ive been doing misc harvesting on the way to quests, finished the entire west weald zone, almost unlocked all scripts on my main and been starting to learn more on alts
but ive gotten so little ink i havent even been able to craft all of the scribe skills at least once on my main for the achievement, let alone trying to make any skills for alts
You've got to admit though, that pay-to-grind is a top tier business model.
