Mirror puzzle did not start

As well as my quest companion being in the sky and having to reset twice...
when another player entered during the fight, the 5 (?) mirrors in front of me just stayed as ... mirrors.
When I shared screen with a friend, he let me know they were meant to be a clickable puzzle -but they were not able to be interacted with.
So... out I went for the third time.
And then it reset.
