Bring Back Permanent Celebration Rooms

For context, Celebration Rooms are the rooms at the end of a main story questline containing all the main NPCs and a number of sidequest NPCs for that expansion, with plenty of dialogue. These rooms have existed since Markarth DLC and its epilogue, and have generally been permanent, meaning we can revisit our favourite characters whenever we want (I am guilty of visiting Fennorian in Markarth dozens of times).

So imagine my shock and despair when I left out the door after the main quest and came back to an empty room in Gold Road — no major NPCs, no Fennorian, nothing. Is there any chance we can have Gold Road's celebration room be permanent like the others?

    I'm not bothered by keeping it if it brings other players joy to be able to return. I mean, how often do you accidentally get back to that place anyway? I find the situation in Bal Foyen much worse, where you meet the refugees from Bleakrock at 3 different locations or so, with their original dialogues, as if the story never progressed.

    After going on a desperate hunt last night, turns out Necrom's celebration room also doesn't last, though some of the NPCs are scattered across the land like a large scale Verandis Ravenwatch hunt.

    I can't help but notice the NPCs that are not included in this hunt, in both Necrom and Gold Road, are the NPCs I most wanted to revisit. If they're going to disperse the party, at least have everyone linger around, perhaps...?

    Whether or not they remove npcs from a place seems quite random anyway. They sometimes even remove them where it would absolutely make sense for them to stay.

    I was actually disappointed at the end of Isobel's quest line. You get to visit her parents at their home during the quests, I think they even say that as a friend of Isobel you're allowed to visit at any time, but when I returned after the end of the questline (and whole chapter, actually), because I wondered if they might have a bit of special dialogue now, they were just gone. I mean, why give them a home, tell the player to visit anytime, and then remove them?

    I'm not entirely certain it's related, but I strongly suspect that it may have something to do with account wide achievements, and the fact that characters were seeing NPC's and other things completed in the world that were not supposed to be completed for them because they had never done the quests.

    For example, on one of my accounts, I see every single coldharbour NPC in the area where they gather before the big finale of the questline on all of my characters, even though I have only ever completed that quest line on one character on my account.

    It's possible that they removed the celebration rooms to mitigate this type of issue with alts going forwards. But I do wish they would fix them and bring them back.

    (I'm not certain this is the reason, it's just a guess based on glitches in the game I've experienced)

    Uh. I didn't want to mess with them the first time.... Sorry, I just have zero interest in the NPCs in this game.

    Personally I don't like 'realistic' when it removes a comfort that I've been looking forward to all year and, at this point, very much burned myself out for.

    That's a good point, and one I didn't think about yesterday. In that case, though, why would only some NPCs be in different places (therefore running into the same achievement glitch anyway but... scattered?) while some disappear entirely despite stating that they'll be in the zone for some time after the party?

    I understand cases like Verandis, for example, who expresses wanting to be unfindable.
    But Gadayn somehow is never seen in Necrom again?

    I like celebration rooms and it would be nice of they were somewhat permanent... after all, most of Tamriel is existing in a continuous state of Dragon Break (which is even referenced in one or two quests)

    It seemed a lot of NPCs at the celebration end of Necrom were not interactable, which was disappointing. Hopefully this is fixed by the time I get around to that again on my Arcanist.

    I am also revisiting the old vanilla quests and one that I remember had a snarky quip that I wanted to revisit, but at the end of the quest, the NPC wasn't anywhere to be found. However, he was at his usual spot in the town, and he still had his post-quest quip.

    It's the one about the Pact Advocate. I always pick the Khajiit in that one, because I want the Wood Elf couple to stay together and the quip is about outsiders not respecting local customs, "like that neehhhhver happens"

    Oh no I didn't even notice! I always loved going back to catch up with an NPC just in case I missed their quest on the way through the main story. I don't always explore everything 100% the first time. So it was so nice before finding out a little more about the aftermath of a quest resolution.

    But I understand it's not very realistic to have a perpetual party, unless it's some Sanguine shenanigans.

    I don’t have a problem with it and it’s technically completely possible I’m sure

    My point is , is that ZOS will have 0 appetite to go and recode something that isn’t broken and offeres no benefit to players.

    I agree. I think this would benefit the players who enjoy the story side of things, which is the majority of players.

    I did the Necrom story without the side quests so hardly anyone was there for the ending. I heard last that you couldn’t re-enter the room in Apocrypha. I was hoping more names would be added to the book after I did the side quests later.

    I did the Necrom story without the side quests so hardly anyone was there for the ending. I heard last that you couldn’t re-enter the room in Apocrypha. I was hoping more names would be added to the book after I did the side quests later.

    Necrom has two celebration rooms — the one in Apocrypha, and one in the Necropolis. You CAN enter the Apocrypha one, but it will be empty of all story NPCs after the quest, while you won't be able to enter the Necropolis one.

    That's a strange take.
    If you have zero interest in NPC's in the first place, why would you care about them coming back in future content? I mean what difference does it make whether you are talking to someone new or someone you already talked to 3 months ago? It doesn't make a difference.

    I like them. I even go so far as to try and guess when the end of the main quest line will happen so I can collect side quests.

    That said, my expectation is that they get on with their lives. I should not be seeing them again, and if I do, they should not be still gathered in the party room.

    I also do not like ZOS bringing back special NPCs from previous chapters and zones. This is not because I dislike the idea, but because ZOS has a history of not handling it very well.

    My apologies for asking, but is there something you DO enjoy in this game? I read the forums frequently and I feel like every single thread I see you post in that's about adding or changing something, you say something like you're not interested or you don't like this or that. If they add it back in it's not going to make any difference to you whatsoever.

    And to OP, I agree. I have re-visited places like Markarth and Rimmen a number of times after I have finished their questlines to interact with the NPCs to read the dialogue and remember what we achieved/undertook. It's also nice to see characters that haven't shown up in the new expansions for a while (like Queen Khamira.)

    Seems like a pointless thing to have removed.
