Unstoppable CC?

I just played a Battlegrounds match and one of the enemy players had an ability that seemed to be able to stun a target for about 3 seconds with no ability to break free from it. Is this some sort of broken scribing ability? I'm not sure what you're supposed to do as a stamina DPS player to counteract this one spell. The CC mitigation in this game is practically non-existant.

Yeah, there are some abilities you cant break free, but you can use baan dar to reduce cc duration an you.

Break free doesn't work sometimes even with 100% stamina remaining. You'll eat the full crowd control duration. Also there's some bugs like Fossilize + Leap that will prevent break free. It's been happening for years.

Can that be counteracted with Precognition?

Precognition has been bugged since it released as well. It often simply doesn't work.

There's another break free bug where you aren't crowd controlled but pressing your bash hotkey will play the break free animation and consume the cost. If you spam bash then it just breaks free repeatedly and uses up 25k stamina in like 3 seconds. It's funny and annoying.

Maybe it's the wardens class signature script. It charms.

You can break free from all PvP CC.

What you're probably experiencing is what LittlePinkDot above just mentioned - you're probably getting rooted/immobilized and stunned. So you have to break-free AND dodge roll after. Or perhaps you're getting hit by Petrify which will have the same effect. The confusion is the lack of obvious graphic with the Warden Signature script combined with the root/immob so you're character seems to not be responding but the CC is actually broken.

I've tested a ton of different scripts (and in duels), and haven't seen any unbreakable CC.

It's the new scribing skill. I use it on my NB and it is 3 seconds long, you can't roll dodge out of it but you can use immobility detect potions to get out of it.

It stops for 3 seconds, gives me resources back and also increases my weapon and spell damage by 215 for 20 seconds which works great with Viscous Death and Tarnished as both increase damage off of those two stats . I can spam it and it uses magika (which I don't use) and get back stamina during the fight which is really nice. You can also build other scribing skills off of it to cause breach etc. It's also great for disrupting ball groups as it breaks them up when they try to run together, usually one or two get stuck in place.

I don't get why games pile on CC effects while minimizing counterplay. Just about any PvP game these days turns into a free-to-wait experience.

Hadn't thought about it like that but true. I guess it's a selling point for Gold Road. Mostly utility stuff for scribing but useful for things like this.

I've ran into a few other people using some scribing skills in PVP and it's hard to build to get around a lot of them. There was one the other day where I was just able to cloak at all when near the other person. I don't know what it was but it wasn't a potion. In that respect it's either buy Gold Road or be handicapped.

"Rune Prison", a sorcerer skill can't be blocked, describe like this :

"Imprison an enemy in a constricting sphere of dark magic. After a short duration they are stunned for 3 seconds.
This stun cannot be blocked".

Maybe it's this one ?

Stun with "Streak", "Bolt Escape Morph", also with Sorcerer is describe as "Cannont be blocked" as well.

Maybe it's a term issue, because, i can't break free from those stuns in BG.

Maaybe we need to read those descriptions as "Cannont be broke".
