The new mail system...

...is an unmitigated disaster! Not only because of the drastically shortened retention times which have been brought up since the PTS went live, but because of a slew of other issues.

Mails are randomly listed within the three categories. For instance, mails for items sold in a guild store appear randomly between mails about items about to expire instead of listing the mails chronologically.

The icing on the cake, however, is the expiration of mails regarding chapter purchases. Quite to the contrary of what was promised. I treasure these mails, and the Necrom one survived for a full year before it now is about to expire along with the new Gold Road one.

Yes, I don't understand why guild store sales are in System Alerts rather than just System Mail.

However, I like that my expansion purchase rewards email doesn't expire, although it used to matter to me more.

It's not only that. The mail is all jumbled together. Again, I would expect the mails to be in chronological order. Not finding "Item sold" mails inbetween earlier "Item expired" mails, just to give an example. And of course I would've expected all mails pertaining to my purchase of a chapter to stay untouched as well. Which, I believe, was promised. As it stands, in two days from now those mails will be gone.

The deletion of mails seems buggy too, on my game the system mail and alerts delete after looting, however, the player mail just stays around nad still have to be manually deleted!

This isn't buggy so much as a system generated template mail v something another player sent you. Sure a lot of times it's just items sent, but sometimes there's a nice message there you don't want auto deleted.

There are some player mails I cannot seem to delete. Right now I'm chalking that up to add-on issues, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is a bug also.

If you using a postmaster addon, the player and system mail won't delete til you disable the addon, since it not updated yet.I dunno if other mail addons have the issue, since I don't use em..

i think most mail addons have issues right now

one of the settings of no thank you addon to hide the delete mail confirmation breaks the mail so you cannot delete system alerts, but would work fine on the other 2 mails unless disabling this one setting

i don't get why was THAT necessary to implement this anti-player feature.
humans are not robots and vacation are normally FOUR WEEKS while players forget about e-World and switch to the real world.
shortening Guild traders listing time, received payments storage time and other terms is such a deterring measure, which i have no explanation for. probably Zeni wants less players online. :(

its going to vary per location and person lol

for me, i usually only take 1-2 weeks off at once for a vacation, but i also dont travel on my vacations (i usually use that time to spend more time playing games, either ESO or others lol)

and even if i do travel for a vacation, i always take a laptop with me to have something to do in the evenings

New emails are displayed at the bottom, at the end of the list. Having to scroll down the page every time is annoying

I had a strange issue yesterday: Collected gold from guild store sales, then deleted the mails. It took over 5 minutes for the gold to show up in my inventory! I'm 100% sure as I always deposit my gold from character inventories to the bank at the end of a playing session and collecting mail is the first thing I do when I log in again the next time. So that character's gold was at 0 when I collected the sales money and it didn't change. Closing and opening the inventory again didn't have any effect. So I did crafting first and when I took a look at my inventory again some minutes later (before turning in the items), it did suddenly show around 70k gold (which is about the right amount). I'm not sure if it's related to the new mail system, but I never encountered that issue before, not even on very, very laggy days (the first days after chapter releases were much worse some years ago, after all).

I had the same issue. I sold some mats to a friend via COD mail and then went to buy some potions and the gold wasn't in my inventory. I had to zone (which is when it appeared), deposit the gold in the bank, and withdraw it to get it to show up. Porting back to the original zone without first depositing the gold made it disappear again.

yeah i noticed it didnt automatically update when i claimed my sales gold yesterday, my gold amount did update as soon as i changed zones, so nothing was lost of course, but still kind of weird
