Scribing: The quickest way to obtain ink

Simply complete the quest line on each of your alts as you net x12 inks per alt.

While the thought of repeating this quest on multiple alts will be utterly dismaying to most, because of the very rare drop chance it's by far the quickest way to obtain a good supply at x12 inks per 2 hours per completion :#:)

There is the option of buying from guild traders of course but they are very very expensive at the moment.

Maybe it's a relatively "quick" (and painful) way, but that assumes that you also have alts. I only played my main for years, now I have 4 characters. I suspect there are other people who only play 1-2 characters.

Even if you have only 2 chars that nets you x24 ink - more than enough !

Levelling alts is quick and dead easy, and remember you only need to get to lv 25 to be able to do the quest/scribing :)

It will still be so much faster to level an alt to 25 and complete the quests until you have the x12 ink!
reckon you'll be lucky to have dropped 1 ink in that time by grinding conventionally :o !

2 hours? It took me a lot longer to do those 6 quests.

Why is the quest line for scribing level-locked at all?

The barrier to doing scribing quests quickly on an alt is having all of the needed wayshrines unlocked. Many people don’t play their alt’s enough to have port all over Auridon, The Rift, Vvardenfell, and I don’t even remember where else.

lol, 25 is nowhere near enough unless you are only going to do a few new skills. If I remember correctly there are @4000 variations. Also the minimum level is 30, though that is a minor issue compared to ink. Grinding multiple alts through a tedious set of quests is not the solution.

from what ive heard you can be on a lvl 4 alt and start the scribing quests

the requirements is level 30 OR have CP enabled (which unless its your very first character on a new account, should have some cp)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Doing this once was more than enough grief. Having to do it on more than one char is enough to make me uninstall.

I did it once the first day and as far as I can see the only good thing has been the free horse.

Don't think I'll be using it much and am sorry I relentted and bought Gold Road.

Yeah, I found that out this morning. I was already planning to run all my CP160s through the entire quest line (if some of the content isn't stuff I can't do - time will tell on that). I also have several 30+ characters around various accounts. My baby account will have to wait until they get to 30 I guess. 13 more levels....

    2 hours on ALTS.

Once you've done the quest for the first time (took me just over 3 hours) then all subsequent runs only take a couple of hours at most !

Unlike most of the people on the forums, it seems, I'm enjoying the heck of the Scribing quests. Of course, I'm taking my time on it, really soaking up the vibe and exploring every nook and cranny.

That said, uh no, I would under no circumstances repeat this on all of my alts just to score 12 ink per character.

No way in hell are you completing all of that in 2hrs. The quests are long, lots of back and forth and most peoples alts don't have all of the zones/wayshrines/etc so it would most likely take even longer.

    Pfft ! I've just done my 4th run through in UNDER 2 hours - 1 hour 56 mins :p

I've been playing ESO since launch (2014) all char slots filled and all chars maxed, all zones (incl DLC) fully explored, all wayshrines unlocked, all mounts max speed.

Also doing this quest line on a vampire stamina Nightblade in medium armour (big speed passives), all CP tree speed buffs taken/slotted, Ring of the Wild Hunt (45% increased out of combat speed!) is SUPER FAST and you can speed cloak (invisibility) past a lot of enemies and trash mobs too, which would otherwise slow you down.

I'd wager that more players than not have at least 1 Nightblade alt maxed with base game zones fully explored, and could easily adapt to a speed or semi-speed build if they so wished, if they haven't got one already for harvesting or PVP :)

The first time I and many others did Vet Maelstrom arena it took 6+ hours. Even average players, myself included, can comfortably complete it in under an hour.

ps: Having memorised a lot of the spawn points for the wards etc, I reckon I could complete a Scribing run in 1 hour 45 mins if I seriously focused and had no interruptions from cats, rabbits and windy children :o
