How do you apply Skill Styles?

I am enjoying the new chapter and have completed all 6 quests for scribing. The new spells and abilities seem interesting but my issue is with skill styles (the color skins for abilities). Under collections, for Skill Styles, it shows "Link in Chat" and "Show in Skills". Clicking on "Show in Skills" only takes me to my skills page with no option to apply a "Skill Style" to the actual skill.

Simple question:

How do you apply the skill styles to the actual skill so that it changes color?

In the skills menu. It's the same as choosing a morph.

for skills that have styles available, there is an extra box in the skill menu to the left of the skill to select the style

I still do not have any idea how to apply a Skill Style to an actual skill. Under the Skills Menu, I do have a second tab for scribing, but that only takes me to the Grimoires page.

I do not have any option similar to a skill morph next to the skill. Nor is there any indictors (such as press "E" either next to the skill) in which to apply a "Skill Style", not the Grimoires. Initially, when I found the Skill Style, there was an exclamation point at the bottom center of the skill icon (which since has vanished), but that also had no interaction available.

Also, the Skill Style (under the "Collections" tab) has no option to apply to the color change to the skill so obviously it is not that option either.

More specifically, I am trying to figure out how to apply the "Vigor, Soothing Blue" to the vigor skill.

I seem to be missing something very important as this should be very easy to do. Is there a special keybinding that I may be missing?

go to your skills window (like the normal skills window you would slot skills on your bar)

go to the alliance war/assault tree

there is a box next to the vigor skill, you click that to "apply skill styles"

Thank you so very much for this information. Unfortunately, I do not have a check box next to the Vigor skill (neither the left nor right side of the skill, which would explain why I cannot figure this out. I try and fix this issue by resetting all of my skills and see if a box appears when I select the skills again.

You may have an addon that might be hiding things. I know LUI has an issue where it hides the skill style icon. The icon is there even if you don't have the style unlocked, so you can't miss it. It's a square to the left of the morphing icon You can use it right from the skill menu just like when assigning skill points.

I'm not sure if my issue was the same as yours, but when I acquired my first scribed skill and saw that there was a new icon to the left of my Soul Trap skill in the Soul Magic skill list, I was confused because nothing much happened when I clicked on the new icon.

But later, after I had completed the Indrik's quest, I received a new style for the Soul Trap skill, such that clicking on that icon let me choose between the default skill style or the newly-acquired skill style.

So it might be that you just haven't acquired any additional skill styles yet, and clicking on the new icon to the left of a skill is just showing you the default style for that skill.

i would agree with this post that if its not there, it might be an addon issue hiding it

I did just finished watching a video and saw the box that you are talking about, although I do not have it as shown by the screenshot (and thank you for your screenshot, it helped). I will attempt to see if there is an addon blocking it.

Again, thank you for your time and insight into this matter. It is greatly appreciated. If I find the offending addon I will post a followup for others as well.

@PeacefulAnarchy @Necrotech_Master After some checking, it appears that the addon "Lui Extended" was the offender. Disabling this addon allows me to apply the Skill Styles.

Yeah, I've got the same issue with the LUI Extended addon, which is hiding the skill style box. I'm hoping there will be an update to that addon soon (last updated March 2024), but for now I can live with not being able to apply the skill styles.
