"Character Resolution" setting

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the new "Character Resolution" setting.
With U42, this new setting has been introduced, and to my understanding, it regulates how far players and characters should be displayed on your screen.
By default, the setting is on "Low".

My question is, is "Low" the pre-patch default? Is "Low" the furthest players and characters used to be displayed before U42? Or is it a different amount (medium, high, etc.)?
Now you're wondering: do you not remember how far you used to see players on your screen? The answer is: not really, I have a terrible memory :D and I would like to keep this setting on the pre-patch value.

Thank you in advance!

I think the default "Low" for this new setting is lower than the pre-patch setting, or at least it seemed like it to me as I was jogging up to an inactive incursion site this morning.
I had to get pretty close before I could see that other player characters were standing there waiting; closer than what I would call "normal" prior to the patch.
