I can't see how scribing helps my Arcanist at all

He uses only arcanist skills in a one-bar setup, and after three hours of playing I haven't received a single useful scribing to help my playstyle. It only seems to help weapon skills and guild-affiliated skills for mages and fighters. So what use is it to my Arcanist?

Well, what are you trying to do? PvP? Tanking? Overland? Scribing is almost all utility, the average damage dealer probably won't find much use out of it.

Thank you, ClowdyAllDay, but he's 80, 2627 and he's fine. I just thought these scribes were boosting everyone's dps. It ended up a big waste of time. Kind of frustrating. My Nightblades my use them, but I'm not going through all the slog again for a long time.
Thank you, too, Soarora, but you're right, not much use for my main class, Arcanist.

I mean, arcanist is an example of one of the few classes with a close to perfect class toolkit.... I'm not at all surprised that scribing isn't beneficial to them since it's definitely more of a feature for classes with gaps in their class lines, not just some big number abilities everyone should start running.

At least Arcanists get one of the best Class Scripts. You can make any of the scribing abilities Give 1 Crux.

Cephaliarch's Flail is already great as an AoE spammable, but you could get pull abilities, damage shields, new AoE or single-target spammables and snares, for example.

What it doesn't have is a good DoT or HoT, which is the main thing that would have added DPS to existing builds.

Scribing isn't a system that will really boost DPS. It is a system that will mostly add variety or plug holes in a class' kit.

Arcanist is already a very "complete" class, all of its skills are highly useful (minus the gate) and powerful. In short, you will probably never have any use for Scribing if you play Arcanist, unless they severely nerf the class in some way.
