Yo guys,

Let me first introduce this topic: there will be salt. A LOT of salt. No insult, and as less toxicity as I can, but just beware of it: I'm just angry.

Just got kicked from a trifecta run that was about to be passed. A very though one (Stone Garden). Then... I crashed. Just like every day, every month, every year, since eight years.

7frwavsdmw15.png

First, let me tell you my specs (so we can put it aside):
  • RTX 3070Ti
  • R7 3700X
  • 32Go DDR4 3600Mhz
  • SSD M.2 NVMe
  • And FREAKING optic fiber with 500Mos/s in local (ethernet) connection, ping in never above 60ms

Now, let's take a look at addons:
  • Lui Extended
  • Map Pins
  • Dulgobun's Lazy Writ Crafter
  • Votan's Minimap
(and I've had MANY crashes even without using any mod)

As previously said, this game crashes everyday. Yes, everyday. I'm not exagerating it. Yesterday I crashed while I was doing housing. Two days ago I crashed on vHOF. And so on.

As many of us, I thought the new megaserver would fix it. But no. It didn't. And after having asked on several forums/websites, everybody tells me the same thing: they also crash very often, what makes me thing my specs or my addons are not the problem. One of my friends even told me that switching to another char was making him crash almost every other time.

In this specific case - and this is probably why my level of frustration in so damn high - the most I was trying to come back, the most it was bugged. I went from a message telling me "You've been disconnected' to "An error occured. Please contact us at..." (something like that). I've had to fully restart my computer to fully fix it! (I'm not joking at all)

So:
  1. The more I was trying to log in, the most it was buggy
  2. I put my whole group in a situation where their trifacta got broken
  3. I had not a single way to reach them as I don't use any external software like Discord or so.
  4. It took me nearly 20 mins to be able to come back. Of course, the team kicked me (and I'm absolutely not blaming them for it, I'd have done the same)

Dear devs, if you read this... Could you please tell me (or us) why TESO, which is such a wonderful game on many aspects and on which I've spent nearly 6.000 hours, as potato servers? And why do we have to endure hours of maintenance for this result?

Thanks in advance,

Jiub

Not sure if you mean recently or not but as of the past week or so the servers apparently have been under DDOS attacks

Still I would also like know know why ZOS lock you out for 20 min after a disconnect. Is some ddos protection false flagging legit players?

Not all disconnects are the same. The extended lockout after disconnect usually is because the game encountered an error in connection where your account is still connected and it needs to timeout or something. I've had it happen only a handful of times over the years but it is annoying.

Go to windows search bar and type in view reliability. It will give you the exact reason you're crashing.

If you haven't try disabling multithreaded rendering in eso graphics settings. In nvidia control panel, turn off threaded optimization. Both of those can be an issue for different games/programs sometimes. Also try tracert to see if there's another issue between you and the server.Below are the IP addresses from the eso troubleshooting knowledgebase.

NA IP Address: 198.20.200.1 for game connection/disconnect issues and 198.20.198.110 for login issues.
EU IP Address: 159.100.230.1 for game connection/disconnect issues and 195.122.154.1 for login issues.

    Hey guys!

Thanks for your replies. Now that I've slept and that I'm in a good mood, my brain is in good conditions to process info o:)

Alas nope, this problem has been persistent for many years now... As far as I can remember I've always faced it, and I've been playing since... 2016-17.
Go to windows search bar and type in view reliability. It will give you the exact reason you're crashing.

I've checked it, but it seems it'll only show me Windows related crashes, and not crashes from softwares/games:

(but as you can see, on June 1st at 3:49PM I restarted my computer because of another crash ingame)

Will check this out once the update is achieved, thanks!

Sad to read this and while quite not the tech savy here, I can tell you that with a lesser pc but equally good connection my eso runs smoothly with very rare crashes, and it holds rather well even in pvp where my lowest experience is lag, but crashes... maybe they happaned like 5 times in 3 years in Cyrodiil ? And that because the mass of players in one place was literally too much. So I am not exactly sure why other players experience such issues, but there are and those of us who don't, and the reason I share this is to encourege those in the know to provide some better explanations for the way things work ( or should work) - because it may well be anything in between the "self" and the actual eso providers.
