No Achievement for completing Research on the 4 crafts?

I started researcing back in 2014 but gave up after I realized how long it was going to take. But a few months ago I decided to complete this on my main crafter. So I gathered gear and made lists of what I needed and finally today my last piece of gear finished researching.

As much work as this was I was really surprised that there was not an achievement for completing all the research in Blacksmithing, Clothing, Woodworking and Jewelrycrafting. I'm glad I finally completed this but felt like it earned some acknowledgement, and was let down that there wasn't any.

We can pass this along for future consideration. The team is always looking at achievement recommendations, so this is a good one to add for their consideration.

As far as I know there aren't any hidden achievements in ESO, so you can always check before or during doing something to find out if you'll get an achievement to avoid being disappointed.

I would have completed the research even if I had realized that there wasn't an achievement connected to it. But it is just such a long road to complete this that I was really surprised it wasn't acknowledged with an achievement.

This achievement would have been excellent BEFORE Account Wide Achievements in my humble opinion. If this could be a character specific achievement it would be much better.

I was reading this post, and my mind instantly went to how could I cheese this... and it wouldn't be too hard to get in less than a few weeks with access to enough resources.

9 traits, 14 items maximum per trait (Blacksmith and Clothing) 8 character slots by default on an account.

6 hours for the first trait, 12 for the second.

Create 8 characters, get to the point where you can research.

1 character per trait, 14 x 6 = 84 hours, adjusting up to 120 take into account sleep/late re-upping of research. And this is going at 1 item at a time, with no research points, much faster with skill points.

Then you split the final 14 between the 8 characters for 12 hours, one per day, for about 2 days more.

As opposed to doing it on ONE character, in which the 9th trait on an item takes 27 days (with ESO+)

I would never split up my research across multiple characters then try to remember which know which traits. I have one main crafter and she is the only one I did research on.

I'm doing research on all of my characters.

My two mains (PC NA and PC EU) completed their research long ago, using things like research scrolls, and putting points into the passives that let you research more traits at once and that reduce the times slightly.

I just completed research on a second PC NA character a few weeks ago, and am researching my final traits on two other PC NA characters.

It gives me a sense of relief when a character finally completes researching everything, like when I complete mount training on a given character.

For me, it's those sweet sweet skillpoints I get back when they finish the research. Sure on my main, 12 skill points are nothing but on my alts who only have 120 skyshards unlocked each point matters. And on top of that, being able to update my ESO spreadsheet(started in 2014/2015) and putting a gold 9 in the right column to signify a 9 trait crafter for writs.

I haven't removed the passives for research and am not sure I am going to. I don't need the points and am not sure if they still have any use.

I start research as soon as the new char can get to a workbench.
I rank up the four skill points as soon as I can.

The ninth trait takes 27-30 days to complete.

This is my most focused activity on new chars. It's also why gold is never an issue for me. ;)

Only if they add a 10th Trait.

There is or was, an Achievement for getting 8 Traits in the original Equipment. Also for learning all the Runes and Alchemy in the original scope.

You do have endeavors that involved crafting or doing Master Writs by type, so the precedent is there.

    Good point.

I went in and removed these passives, and took it a step further by removing them on all my other characters too, because I only planned to learn them on my main crafter anyway.

I think there should also be achievements and cool titles or a mount for reaching big CP milestones

I used to get achievement-like popup notifications for completing stuff. They weren't actual achievements, but they looked like them. One thing comes to mind was the popups I got for eidetic memory on my first main character. They were like "You really like to read!" and stuff like that, and they'd appear on the screen like achievements. I haven't seen anything like that in a long time, even on my current main who has many more items in eidetic memory than he had.

I guess they thought the GMC achievement was good enough, but they do have achievements (plural) for discovering enchanting runes so who knows.

I just noticed all the research scrolls we are getting as daily login rewards this month. I still don't feel like I need to learn all these on more than one character but I will save them just in case I change my mind.

I knew about that one, but researching every trait once isn't nearly as expensive and time consuming as learning every trait on every item. If that deserves an achievement then surely doing them all should earn something.

They should have required it for the Grand Master Crafter since I doubt they could come up with a title greater than that. I do not think it required learning all the traits on every piece.

I would love a character based achievement for the trait research, it would give me motivation to work on all my toons. And the title would be account wide of course.

It would be meaningless if done across multiple characters, like I think Grandmaster Crafter can unfortunately be done that way now. An achievement for researching all traits for all crafts should mean that you can craft any item of any set.

I always thought this should be a requirement for Grandmaster Crafter, so I sort of made it so for myself since it took me a while to collect the number of complete motifs required.
