I found out how you can parse with the Coil. There is a Lantern Mantis in the crown store that you can place(certain way) to get your Coil to activate, enjoy.

That was pretty genius, so they can be used for something else than traps for visitors.
One guild mate had an house with master crafting stations and a trap if you explored, fell down trough an carpet into an cage with two of them who killed an guild mate :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I have an officer in my guild who set up the traps so that dps could practice parsing while stacked. The aim was not to get hit at all.

The mantis also procs the Nord passive for ultimate generation, which is almost like minor heroism. It’s pretty much constantly proccing ultimate in a lot of trial fights anyway, so the mantis can help simulate that

You could also block-cast some skills, since blocking damage also generates ultimate the same way a light attack would generate ultimate. You could technically go an entire fight without light attacks (and making full use of ultimates) while using something like the velothi amulet to boost damage

Blocking doesn’t set off glyphs, though, and those are still a significant component for pushing damage, as are the status effects they have the best chance to proc (twice as much as the highest chance of skills). That’s part of why Velothi doesn’t lower light attack damage by 100% - in addition to certain sets (e.g. Relequen, Zaan, Depths) requiring damage from light attacks to function.

Yeah I always have weapon AOE DOT skills on both bars proccing enchantments and their status, and coral riptide equipped

Well the main reason for the Mantis is to proc the damage so your under 100% health. What I have done is started the parse to see where the aggro area is at the set the Mantis just 1-2 feet away, when I need the proc I step back into the area and let the mantis hit me (while i`m still parsing) then step forward to keep on parsing. I wish there was away to get Sul-Xan`s to work but one would need the Venegeful soul.

You will certainly get glyphs procs that way, but dual wield builds, which are currently meta for many, are not going to be able to get as high an uptime on glyphs with an AoE DoT alone, since Cloak ticks every two seconds instead of one. Light attacking ensures a higher uptime for those builds. It also doesn’t rely on taking blockable damage, which is far from a guarantee when you need it in combat.

Light attacking is also critical for bow builds especially - while you can keep up glyphs with Hail without LAs, you wouldn't get Hawkeye stacks.

While I would also like the ability to test Sul-Xan easily in a house, providing Sul-Xan procs on cooldown would lead to dummy parses that are even further away from the pure single-target scenario they are intended to represent. Sul-Xan requires the deaths of adds, at which point your parse is no longer single target and no longer valid as a comparandum for single-target parses. Since that's one of the reasons explicitly given for having dummies (especially the trial dummies) in the first place, it is not a surprise to me that there has been no hurry to provide a reliable source of Sul-Xan procs for this situation.
