Mio's Hard Core Challenge

So I keep hearing that overland ESO is SO EASY. Want to make it challenging?

1. Dead is dead. Delete your character. Fresh start.
-I started on a new account with no CP or ESO plus. Upon death, I send all items on character and in housing storage to my main account.
-Consider treating death from being booted, BSoD, power outages, or other internet/hardware failure as not counting.
2. No withdrawing from bank, no trading with players, no trading with guild vendors.
-Treat sending items off as deleting them.
3. No sets. No named armor. Not even Prophet. If it has a set bonus it is a no go. Only normal armor with traits and enchantments.
-You can craft your armor, find it, or buy it from NPC vendors.
4. You have to wear contraband clothes. Chest, legs, feet, and hands. This leaves you with only three body slots open.
-I do not have anything other than shoulders, waist, and head outfitted. Everything is dyed.
-Weapon slots and jewelry are still open.
5.No add-ons
-If you want to break this rule but still keep the challenge, map pins for surveys because finding the survey locations is painful.
-I do not use anything else because I consider it cheating. Heck, I consider the map pins for surveys cheating. But the frustration won in the end.
7. Set an endpoint to the challenge. What is the winning condition?
-I chose to wait until the character is level 50 before doing the main quest. After the main quest is complete I decided to treat the character as if they are normal.

Advice
-PvP, world bosses, and dungeon/trial/arenas are a very quick ticket to dying.
-Don't swim in deep water
-Watch your step, falls will kill you.
-Sell what you don't need, your inventory will fill up fast.
-Riding capacity training
-Crafting writs
-Bag vendor
-Companions
-Don't get hung up on rocks.

Good luck!

Sounds too hardcore for me, but I love the approach. If I wanted a difficult challenge where forever death is on the line, I'd use my own judgement getting my wife a Mother's Day present instead of consulting her pals for what would be best.

I think it's been mentioned before on the forum that being able to die and resurrect is a core attribute of the vestige, and some of the quests require jumping off a cliff and dying to complete.
I see you're talking about overland, but you're expected to die and resurrect several times when soloing difficult dungeons.
Take Elden Ring, for example. One of the most hard-core games out there - the only way to learn the bosses' moves are to die a dozen times of more until you figure them out.
So to me, dying and resurrecting is a core part of any RPG I've ever played.

I just heard people complaining that ESO is too easy with overland content and the popularity of Hardcore challenges for other MMOs and decided to make my own.

Some content creators even go out saying you can stand around with no armor on and be just fine while NPCs are attacking your character. I call bologna on this. It doesn't take much to kill you in this set up. Currently running a mage in the 30's and yeah. Dangerous foes are dangerous. Paying attention to your health, food buffs, mitigation, and HOTs becomes a very important part of combat. And I still forget pots at times.

And 'Dead is Dead' is one of the core rules to most hardcore challenges. So, where I understand where you are coming from...

My challenge will make you have to consider playing differently, avoiding certain content, and overall being less reckless. You die, you die.

Dead is dead. Besides. No death runs are nothing new to the Souls-bourn community. Get good.

Consider this. I have done a run for 6 months. I think it was my last attempt. Decided I wanted to do the main quest to the Wrothgar DLC. Got to the boss. That Reachman guy. Got stuck on some rocks. Died to the AOE.

It hurt. It was one of those moments where I stopped and stared at the screen for a bit. I killed the guy, spent an hour emptying my inventory, my 30 slot chest, deleted my character. Right now I am running a dragonknight. Rocks got me killed so I will embrace the power of rocks and fire.

I think I am on my 7th or 8th attempt.
