Just a heads up for those who haven't seen and have been waiting. Zaan is at golden vendor this weekend.

Very excited my alt account will finally have Zaan. Definitely pick it up if you are low cp or don't have a solid group to run vSCP with (if you can only pick one weight, go with light).

Yeah it’s Earthgore and rings of: Knightmare, Rangers Gait, Treasure Hunter and Sword-Singer.

And hopefully everything is good with Bowd.

Yes hadn't noticed the wonderful Enemoriana is doing the list as well as the images at the mo, so hopefully Bowd OK.

Was concerned as well so checked social, it seems all is well and Bowd is away for the best of reasons

IDK, these days, where a monster set competes for the slot with a mythic or a 5 piece bonus, is Zaan really worth it?

This set has rng (crit) over rng (33% proc chance) over rng (are you weaving perfectly?) over rng (better proc on a target that survives the full 10s) over rng (are adds around when the set does the most damage?) combined with a long cooldown.

Raw dps on the boss doesn't seem that impressive even when you just consider the cooldown and ignore the time to proc it.
Adds might be nuked if the stars align perfectly, but more likely they come and die while the set is on cooldown or ramp-up.

What's the niche here?

You can run a monster with a mythic (although you will lose arena weapon) plus not everybody has or uses mythics. To use a personal example, I still don't have all the kilt leads on EU and my alt who doesn't run many dungeons won't be farming Mazzatun and I don't wanna farm Scrivener's either tbh, plus I hate kilt lol. Plus it can just be used for parsing.

So yes, Zaan's worth it
