Consumable Master Writ Endeavour

I was under the impression that

- Clothing, Woodworking, Blacksmithing and Jewellery are 'durables'.
- Alchemy, Provisioning and Enchanting are 'consumables'.

Has that changed?

I have just completed an Enchanting MW and it did not count towards the endeavour.

Enchanting is durable, it has always been.

    Hence the durable endeavors say:

"Complete Master Writ quests for durable goods like enchantments and equipment to complete this endeavor."

    I stand corrected.

I based my assumption on the fact that before they recently 'normalised' quest reward XP Clothing, Woodworking, Blacksmithing and Jewellery MWs rewarded max XP where Alchemy, Provisioning and Enchanting didn't.

Enchanting rewarded the same XP as Alchemy and Provisioning.

Furthermore you get the daily writ quest for the consumables board, not the equipment one.

Oh well, the more you know I guess... Not going to try to find the logic because that way madness lies... just roll with it and move on.

    Thanks for the info.

Hej I just did one each of Alchemy, Provisioning and Enchanting as I wasn't sure, now I know thanks to this thread :)
I have an ethereal crown of three spirit crows:
    - On top is Grandfather spouting words of wisdom.
    - On the left is Empathy who is rather naive.
    - On the right is Ego who is rather greedy.
The incessant cackling is quite amusing.

Enchanting is just less consistent than the other crafts here, for whatever reason.

For some reason endeavors are capable of changing the core definition of certain things the way they're used in all other contexts in game.

Poison master writs do not count for "consumable" master writ endeavors, last I knew. They're not durables, though. They're just...nothing, I guess.

People don’t consume poisons like they consume potions.

Enchantments are kind of a weird one. They aren't consumable by the player, but they are in a sense consumed when you use them. Whatever.

Consumables are anything consumed on use. Ingestion is just one particular form of consumption. "Conspicuous consumption" isn't called that because people are having a food contest - it's a contest in which money is spent (i.e. consumed) in a visible way.

That's also why glyphs are on the consumable daily writ board - they are consumed on application (as Hapexamendios said). You cannot get back the glyphs or any part thereof once you've applied them to a piece of gear.

Endeavors as a whole are pretty lousy today. Kill Tho'at (I think I've only ever seen it once), Kill a district boss in the IC, and consumables writs (dependent on RNG to even get one). Only the furnishing and treasure ones are viable.

Fortunately the furnishing one gives 100 SoE, so I'm not complaining about missing an endeavor today.

By "dependent on the RNG to get consumables writs" I assume you have forgotten "or can go and buy one from a guild trader, or possibly take one out of your guild stash".

Arc 1 is doable by most players especially with a companion. Have you tried Archive since they patched companions?

Consumable writs are cheap at guild traders.

To piggyback on the Archive bit, a well built Isobel Companion can literally solo Arc 1 Tho'at and Marauders in Arc 2 and 3, I posted videos of this shortly after the companion change.

I keep a small supply of Provisioning Master Writs on hand for such occasions. Fortunately, it often happens that I receive an Alchemy Master Writ from my daily crafting rewards on the same day that this endeavor comes up, which means I don't need to dip into my dwindling stash of Provisioning Master Writs each time.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!
