Is necroptence bugged?

Without a pet I have 42k magic. Once a pet is summoned I go to 41.7k magic.

I just checked my pet sorc and I did not see any difference in my stats whether my pets were out or dismissed. It has been years since I bothered to look but I seem to recall the values would change once the pet becomes active. So it sounds like a bug in either the calculation or display.

I think that explains the OPs behavior but it doesn't appear to explain mine.

I checked my character and I do have Expert Summoner active. When my pet is out I see the increase in health however whether my pet is out or dismissed my Max Magicka and Stamina stay the same at 37854 and 13920 respectively. I also don't see the Necropotence bonus.

There is a daily, of upgrading you stats with or without a pet.

I wonder why removing the skill points from this passive made no difference..
