More players farm resources?

Hello All

Since about one week, I observe two facts:
- "Rare" resources are suddenly no more rare. No kidding. I'm a resources farmer and can really see an obvious difference, like for example columbines that are everywhere, as if they would be first tier.
- Resources prices on trading market are massively decreasing, what is probably a direct consequence of previous point.

Therefore my question: Was there a change of spawning rate of higher tier resources? Or is it just that there are suddenly more players farming resources (would explain that higher tier resources spawn more)? Or any other reasons?

I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

I haven't noticed any difference. The alchemy plants have cycles. The "it's everywhere you look" herb changes. Some are always more common some always more rare, but within those constraints there are cycles.

    I haven't noticed any difference.

Prices have definitely dropped sharply over the last month or so.

I was regularly hearing want-to-buys in zone chat for 3k per columbine.

As of last week those were down to about 1k per.

Well, keep in mind that we recently had the anniversary event, which drops a ton of all kinds of mats and can flood the market with them and can mess up the market for a bit.

But there may be more to it - as a trader I've seen an extreme lack of demand recently. Trading activity in my guilds is down ~50% from what it was just a few weeks ago. What remains to be seen I suppose is whether this is a temporary blip with people being burned out from the anniversary event / bored waiting for Gold Road to drop, so not playing much and not shopping at traders much... or a longer term trend and a sign of things to come.

My guess is it's the Sword-Singer Redoubt giveaway a couple of weeks back.

There is now a significantly larger than usual number of players furnishing their homes. Many for the first time. And to do so, they're farming furnishing mats, which require boatloads of normal resource nodes to get those not-so-common drops. The side effect being, they're also harvesting massive amounts of normal resources.

    It'll stabilize eventually.

I still see columbine going for a ton. Heartwood is selling really well right now, too.

    Wax is still 40+ too.

The jubilee event is likely what caused the prices to go down.

The anniversary event gave us a huge bounty of resources. I myself stopped farming for a while because I felt like I didn't need to - for the moment. I'm guessing the higher availability of resources is because fewer players are farming.

Though I did go looking for mundane runes yesterday and most of the runestones were farmed out. Perhaps due to the free notable home and subsequent need for structural furnishings.

It's a good time to buy commodities if you have the gold.

Demand has dropped because players like me with 20 maxed out chars, with all 7 crafts levelled, religiously did the daily writs on both servers for the Anniversary loot boxes which dropped hundreds of plants, herbs, flowers and mats.

I'm still in therapy, but at least I dont have to farm or buy anything for another year.

Probably the anniversary event and people who were sitting on the resources they got starting to test the waters all at once to start selling them in bulk once they noticed high prices causing supply to meet demand and prices to go back down.

Likely start happening with a lot of mats across the board once the chapter drops.

As for more people farming, the housing addicts probably need their fix of furniture mats, for that free house that came out and are either unwilling to pay for them or have gone broke and need to farm the mats themselves.

Event exhaustion probably drives many players away between them.

On the gaming front there have also been several big new releases and older games with major updates.

Anniversary Event Fatigue and abundance of free mats along with the typical pre chapter launch lull likely have the biggest impact. The fact that these coincide with generally better weather at least for the NA crowd and more people out touching grass, could be to blame.

All three have certainly impacted my play time of late.

For me personally it's 100% the result of the Anniversary Event.

My craft bag is full of lovely mats of all kinds and I am taking advantage of any "cheap" furnishing mats I see, there are still plenty to be found in stores!

For example with Columbine, I have a set amount I always keep, any excess I was selling, atm I have quadruple that set amounr and am currently just sitting on it watching prices.

I am sure I am not the only one! 🙂
    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

The Anniversary Event was a big part, but I have also noticed a large influx of harvest bots on PC-NA. There were thousands of free disposable accounts given away on Epic Games not long ago, this usually results in a large increase of cheaters and gold sellers as there is not much investment. I've reported at least a half dozen and now there are a dozen of them, all doing the same actions so I assume it is a larger gold selling group.
