I don't stay dead so it is not important. But I quite often do something called "bloodport" in cyro.

In Elder scrolls games especially, but really any game that has a sky and cliffs and allows me to fall from it, I die, repeatedly, from walking off cliffs.

Either I am trying to see what is below the cliff, looking at the view beyond the cliff, or looking at the sky above me (or fall asleep at the computer while pressing the forward button), cliffs are pretty much public enemy number 1 for me.

I would say that I jump off a cliff an average of 3 times a day, because:
    - I have 2 screens and like to watch 2nd one while running, often returning too late to main one... :D
    - I generally like to cut straight between point A and point B, what often means to jump off cliffs.
    - I like to escape foes by madly running away from them straight ahead of me, and since there are cliffs everywhere... o:)

So, all in all, as I play the game over 2 years by now, if I count 3 times a day, it's more than 1000 per year, meaning I should be between 1000 and 9000.
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

Not often but I frequently kill my friend when giving her a lift on my multi-rider mount. I don't know why but I'm fine and she takes massive fall damage, lol
I believe there was mention of that in another thread somewhere. When 2 players are using the same mount, their network connections to the server may not be properly synchronised, which can lead to the server not synchronising their positions properly. This can cause the server to assign unrealistic speeds and/or positions to 1 of the players, which can cause the fall damage problem.

I have no idea but it's probably a lot. Fun fact about me: At one point the original Destiny game that no longer exists kept track of how many times you accidentally killed your own character (don't remember if this was an offical thing or an app or a website or something). It had a "leaderboard" for the greatest number of self-kills (blow yourself up, fall of map, etc). I was on that leaderboard. It was not intentional. So, yeah...

    edit

I wasn't at the top but I made the list. Sadly, I can't find the full list anymore. Don't know if I still had by the time the game shut down either as I know some people purposefully went for it as the game closed. LOL

Not terribly often but still often enough to remember a few... fun times, as it were.

"Breakfall" with 35% reduced fall damage allows you to jump from top of any Cyrodiil keep and live as well as most steep cliffs.

However, there is a trick I learned to get down the steepest cliff. Move to the edge of the cliff and ease yourself over so you just begin to fall and then push toward the cliff. This will allow you to slide down most cliffs without taking any falling damage whatsoever.

The other trick is when you see a cliff coming and you are mounted or on foot try to hit the side of the cliff as you fall or any thing that is halfway down the falling distance. This will reduce falling damage.

I've found the same trick. I'm still getting a lot of laughs out of reading this thread.

Yes, I've used the cliff-bouncing trick a few times to save my character's life. The double-jump trick from Elden Ring would be quite handy also. ;) And as for going up some of those annoying cliffs blocking your way: where's a spirit-spring when you need one?

my guildmates and I were once trying to clear vet scalecaller hm. i was tanking, and was told to hold zaan by the (coming in from the door) left dragon statue. didn't question it since i never attempted vSCPHM before.

we wiped a few times, learning mechs, getting better each time..

Eventually, i don't know what became of me, but i would roll dodge to avoid one of Zaan's attacks and plummet to my death over the edge. ive done this maybe 4-5 times in a row all around 40% of her health. Then, my guildmates started rolling off the edges to avoid the poison breath, saying in a joking way "you did this! monkey see monkey do!"

we couldn't stop laughing for the longest time that night. i"d definitely say a grand total of 20 falls happened

    Very rarely on purpose.
I've done it occasionally on purpose as a shortcut, but it makes me cringe

I sometimes died to fall damage when I started ESO. But not that much, because I take care wherever I go.
I am not one to "Skyrim" across the countryside. 😅 Didn't even do that in Skyrim.

I do not count environmental or swimming damage, though. If I was, well, let's just say the number would be higher. Much higher.

If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

Have died too many times to count whilst following pvp GM when on crown. They bounce down gently as their bear has airbags whilst those behind die. (In fact it almost a rite of passage for new guildees to die this way)

Have now learnt to follow at a safe distance & pay attention to their health bar & the terrain.

And can sometimes managed the ‘sliding down the mountain side’ trick, but only if paying attention.
