How does the infinite archive work

I did a quest that never finsihed. I died at the dragon 3 times and then left didnt really get anything or at least nothing worth getting

This is a solid breakdown of the archive as per it's older name.

TLDR is it's a solo/duo arena with a daily which requires you to clear Arc 1 fully. The set pieces only drop from the Tho'at bosses at the end of each Arc and Maruaders which spawn Arc 2 onward. Side rooms exist to take a break from non-stop combat and you earn Fortunes currency to buy special Archive Only offerings from the two vendors there.

If you died to a dragon 3 times, you didn't beat Arc 1 because Stage 4 is the first time actual dragons appear.

Yeah, I thought I typed it out, but that was an earlier draft.

3 lives(can be increased to 4/5) per run and once they're gone, you're done and have to start over. And no save points.
