The music is awful and distracting. I turn it off.

A lot of it is generic or similar and becomes background noise to me. I can't recall a single time I'm in the middle of a fight or quest and feel at awe about the music playing. However, I totally have been swept away by some bards in towns, usually due to their voices. Out of ESOs more combat-focused music though, the ones they use in the cinematic teaser trailers are amazing, but never get used in game unfortunately.
Has anyone found an official soundtrack for the music that plays from the gates of oblivion teaser cinematic? Or from the necrom cinematic?

The soundtrack for the cinematic trailers were all composed for/outsourced by the VFX studios that ZOS has contacted (the VFX studios being The Mill for Necrom and Gold Road, and Blur Studio for Gates of Oblivion). Composers are uncredited and will unfortunately probably never be publicly released, which is a big shame because the soundtrack for the 3 High Isle cinematics were some of the best pieces of TES music I've heard in a while.
Big fan of the music in this game. Brad Derrick is a musical genius and I’m so happy he’s still the music guy 10 years in. He doesn’t get enough credit for what he does
In comparison, from games where I really enjoy the music, the music is for the boss or fight, not for you. So when a boss enters a new phase, the music reflects this as well and it feels intense.
I'd love if when doing a trial against a boss, once we get it down to a percentage health and it enters a new phase and starts to wipe half the team members if some new intimidating music were to play. But there's nothing musically to reflect the moments in an encounter.

@Poss what is it you like about his work?
I think perhaps a big reason the music doesn't really work for me is it's not meant for the boss, it's meant for you. By that I mean all of the combat music sounds very samey throughout all the game and the entire length of an encounter. I think that's because the music is trying to not match anything in particular, so it's just keeping a flow of "up beat combat rhythm" to match with the flood of AoE abilities and chaos that happens on screen in ESO.

I went through on Spotify and skimmed through the Necrom playlist. I can recognize a lot of these, but they weren't memorable to me and is not something I'd listen to on its own.
Thanks for the feedback here on other places to have the soundtracks available. We'll pass that along for future consideration. We've gotten quite a few requests for the soundtrack to be available through Steam.

I always get goosebumps when I enter the IA and would like to purchase it. But cannot identify which track it is on the released OST.
(Don't get distracted from the title of the video: It was posted last year so well before the release of the Necrom ost)
@AnduinTryggva this was made after the Necrom Soundtrack was finished. So unfortunately it isn't on their. Brad did say he hopes to add it to a future soundtrack. So he is aware that folks really like that track.
Hi all, just wanted to follow up for those asking for the soundtrack to be on other platforms. We'll pass that along. We noted this elsewhere, but included the quote below. We'll add YouTube Music to the platform request list. Thanks for the feedback here on other places to have the soundtracks available. We'll pass that along for future consideration. It's a pity that the Murkmire soundtrack never got released, there are some nice tracks in it, e.g.NoticeMeArkay wrote: »To this day, the soundtrack for elsweyr and murkmire happen to be the only ones that actually have me stop and just listen sometimes because they bare such great compositions. Can't say the same about the soundtracks of recent releases, they lack something.
