Motif BOOK Drop Rate %?

I know its very very rare, I am just trying to see if anyone knows the actual math behind it - like is there a 1/200000 chance, 1/20000 chance, is that known information? (Assuming the motif you are farming HAS a full book option)

as far as im aware all motifs can drop a full book, but the chance is extremely low, and i dont know if there is a large enough dataset to get a good approximation of the drop rate

style pages are a bit different as those definitely do not have a "full book" drop option

no one in the community knows any drop chances (except for the chances of the crown crates described in the in-game help). From where? All the power of programmers was spent on writing addons, not on datamining.

The drop rate is low enough, and the variables so unpredictable, that no one who doesn't have access to the code would be capable of enough data to come up with accurate numbers.

And ZOS doesn't seem too fond of us knowing things, so I doubt anyone outside the company has this knowledge.

This would likely require Zenimax to respond or many PC players to run an add-on that tracks actions that have a chance to grant a motif or style page and tracks how many times they are successful. AFAIK, nothing like that exists. Even then, different ones may have different drop rates.

If it helps put into perspective, I've been around since beta but have never seen a full motif book drop as far as I can remember. Nor have I ever had an Aetheric Cipher drop but that's a different matter. It is certainly no where near enough of a feasible farming drop rate and should be treated as a lottery boon. I've had several Imperial motif drops over the years without trying but that's kind of an old base-game thing.

thats why i mentioned we dont have large enough dataset to guess lol

like its pretty well known at this point the chance to get perfect roe from filleting is approximately 1% due to the large quantity of data available on this

in regards to full motif books, its too rare to even form an estimate

in all my time playing ive probably only found 2 full motif books (one xivkyn, and one aldmeri dominion, excluding all of the "base racial motifs + imperial" that do not have chapters)

I had a friend that got the imperial motif book in like their 2nd desk they ever opened....that was in like 2016. I've never seen another book drop for anybody.

Except Imperial Book (I got it 3/4 times in about 5 years playing), I've never seen any Motif Book dropping.

I've gotten one Imperial motif book. I also got a full Crimson Oath motif book out of a gold coffer during the Blackwood celebration event. My guess is that event coffers have a better chance than other places motif chapters drop

I've gotten the Imperial style on several occasions in the past 7 years. Maybe four times or so, but I don't loot as many backpacks as I could.

Other than that, I've gotten the full New Moon Priest book from the Tideholm box once. I check it most days, but not every day.

A few Anniversary events ago, I got a gold Worm Cult book from one of the coffers. Since I already knew all the pages, I sold it for a nice sum.

I must have used up all my good RNG for the life of the game at that point.

I once acquired a full Dremora Style from vKA during Witchfest. It's the only time I've acquired a full motif in close to 10 years of my playtime. I'm sure that without a code leak or something similar, no one can draw informative conclusions from the statistics

I am in the exact same boat. Been here since beta, never had a full book drop.
