If ever Weapon Furnishings should be available, it'd be now.

Sword Singer's Redoubt is a defense position. The whole design reeks of a sustainable retreat position with strong defenses. So I set out to decorate it this way.

Unfortunately, the one thing that would really sell it, would be weapon furnishings. But nope. Not possible. Weapo racks stocked with swords/axes/shields? Not happenin.

And yes, I know I'm beating a dead horse here. But really, how difficult could it be? Every weapon in the game already has models created in every style. Why not simply create a furnishing plan for each weapon type? The recipe could require the actual weapon as an ingredient in the recipe, along with other materials. If you can craft the item, and have the furnishing plan, it basically turns the weapon into a furnishing and it's irreversible.

A side bonus would be that it'd breathe new life into the importance of Motif Chapters beyond needing them for Master Writ acquisition/completion.

I've wanted actual weapon furnishings for almost as long as I've been playing.
Oh my gods, I'd be able to make so many new houses perfect. I've got 4 different Nord houses, and all of them would be completed by having weapons and shields on the walls

Armour racks would be amazing also, since they already have overland models. I could make myself an actual armoury.

Weapons, weapon racks, armor racks - these things are in every chapter in every racial style to tempt us but never seem to get released.

Should the grand statue of my likeness, guarding the entrance to my sumptuous abode, remain without staff in hand forever? It is a disgrace.

I really don't know why they're not. I'd love to make an armory in my houses. All styles should be also craftable as a furnishing.

Honestly, if you know the style for a weapon or shield, you should be able to craft a furnishing version of it for the same exact cost as the item (rubetite level), plus 1-3 furnishing mats appropriate to the item. (i.e. Heartwood for Staves or Regulas for Swords).

There are shield furnishings in the game, though! Three of them! Covenant Hero Shield (https://esoitem.uesp.net/itemLink.php?&itemid=120064&quality=4), Dominion Hero Shield (https://esoitem.uesp.net/itemLink.php?&itemid=120063&quality=4), and Pact Hero Shield (https://esoitem.uesp.net/itemLink.php?&itemid=120065&quality=4)

Also, many of the knife, scythe, cleaver and dagger furnishings work well in weapon displays, plus the fishing spears from some furniture vendors. I've done a couple of weapon displays in various houses using what is in game.

Now, what they really missed with High Isle was adding a decorative suit of armor furnishing...I use some of the more armored target dummies for that but it's not the same. Heh.

Eventual goal: Own all the houses. Currently 5 short of that goal.
