I'm not at the snob level of Fashionista, but I spent a large chunk of my session the other night on the Outfit Station trying to find a decent Chest piece for my Khajiit that wasn't Dead Keeper Heavy...only to eventually give up and select Dead Keeper Heavy, because that's the only piece of the only Style that is near perfect. It features only cloth and leather with minimal metal plating, it doesn't have hip plates or a crotch flap, AND Melee weapons don't float off the hips with it. It's not gaudy, it has no unnecessary bits, no gross accessories like bones, no fur you can't dye. It's simply a minimalist, believable, immersive style piece, and there's nothing else that comes close for one reason or another. That, makes me a sad pup, since now my Characters can't have any real sense of individualism.

I'm in the middle of a Fashion Ocean with barely a drop to drink.

I get how you feel. While I love many styles in ESO, I'm also a huge fan of some of the more minimal "clothing" like pieces. Unfortunately, understated pieces without hip plates and crotch flaps are few and far between. We really, REALLY need more clothing-like styles added to the outfit system without any crotch or hip flaps.

I'm a big fan of Dead Keeper Heavy, but I also really like Saarthal Scholar Chests (style page) and Pyre Watch Light and Medium for their more minimal, practical appeal. They look like something an adventurer would wear as clothing when not in armor or when needing more minimal protection.

Also love Bloodforged light and medium, with shoulders hidden (or with minimal shoulders) though they're more decorative. Best part- no crotch flaps or hip plates, just some small practical pouches.

I think one of my favorite things they've ever implemented is the High Rock Spellsword breeches. They're well fitted, have no weird flappy things, and go nicely with multiple tops. The minimal decoration on them makes them perfect for everyday clothing looks.

    However...I was so disappointed in the new Earthbone Ayleid chests. I love the collar and everything about the front of the top. It would have made a really nice clothing/jacket, but they had to stick the spine and hip flaps onto it x.x; Really wish I could get a version that didn't have the spine or hip plates. It seems we're making a return to huge hip flaps in the next expansion, and I'm not a happy camper > : {

Please, please give us more styles without crotch flaps and hip things x.x

yea it is frustrating how few choices there are without tassets and loincloths.

i don't even use Heavy Dead Keeper because the scroll does kinda float.

my favourite chest styles are Ascendant Order light, drowned mariner, order of the Hour, saarthal scholar, and dreadsails.

i wish there were more like it

i made a list for this kinda thing in January

    That's a cool and useful list @LunaFlora thank u

Man I wish we just had a sleeveless cotton jerkin or something. Not like the costume ones in the cash shop, but something made of cloth that is simple with a open collar in the outfit system

I just want more clothing in the outfit system instead of costumes that I can't customize

I find myself using more of the style pages from events like the Second Seed style, I really like the crop top for one of my ladies and the shoes and gloves.

I just paired the Apocrypha Expedition shoulders, boots, and hands with a Scribes of Mora chest, staff, and daggers. I can’t take any more eyes on my toon than the one piece.

The light Sunspire style looks great on my main Khajiit. The wrap top is perfect and the fabric has lots of decorative embroidery on it.

I haven’t done well with styles in the past but I am playing around with it more to get better. I too struggle to find something that I really like that doesn’t have some glaring thing that I don’t.

Topal Corsair chest is a new favourite of mine, especially if you hide your belt by picking Argonian Sash 1 to go along with it.

It's sleek, and actually covers part of your hips/lower torso, unlike many chest motifs that simply end at the waist. Looks more natural due to this too.

All my alts wear Assassins league in Legate Black (best black) and gold metal bits.

The flaps on hips and in front a minimal and almost invisible with this black. The shoulders are a round color that lays flat.

I get a lot of compliments and people ask what the style is because they don't recognize it.

And it covers a lot of skin.

I still have nightmares about the metal bikini my little Gnome tank had to wear in the game that shall not be named.

While appreciating that its important that your character looks cool, ESO's 'fashion simulator' is best avoided to be honest.

ESO was never built as, or intended to be a fashion or pet or riding sim, which is the reason why so many generic, old styles re-hashed armours, dayglow cartoony mounts and assortment of silly pets have been bolted on over the years.

I also have one complaint about the Scribes of Mora chest. It has full length sleeves that go to the wrists. I wanted to wear it because I got it as a drop in the last event but I also wanted to show off my new trial skin. I would have liked to pick some gloves like Sunspire so she could have bare arms.
