Might it ever be possible to get old event items like Dragon's Treasure Trove?

I wasn't around during that event and would really love to get this:

Or others like the purple torchbug pet. Since the Impresario's Assistant offers old event items now, I wondered if it might ever be possible to get these rewards, even though they're a different type. I'm sure other returning and new players would like a chance to get them also.

(I know other torchbugs and gold piles exist. Let's not talk about the thieving achievement gold pile.)

it seems possible it could be available in the Yesteryear bags during the next Season of the Dragon event,
because the Gates of Oblivion event had reward bundle items in those bags too last year.

i at least really hope that will be the case

I'd love to get that - I was around at the time, but just happened to not login for those two weeks during the event. All you can do is keep an eye out during future events, especially the ones related to Elsweyr, and we might get lucky.

AFAIK the 100% prize for a chapter event has never come back as a free item. Although it has come back in the crown store. I know some of the lesser prizes did like the aforementioned Gates of Oblivion event had the Pellucid Swamp Jelly Pet (originally from Bounties of Blackwood), Shadows of Blackwood body and face markings (originally from Bounties of Blackwood), and the Voriplasm pet (originally from Murkmire Celebration [not a chapter event with community progress]). So, if it does come back, it may end up a crown store item.

Elsweyr (Dragon's Rise)- Dragon's Treasure Trove--- has so far not returned
Elsweyr (Dragon's Rise) - Target Bone Goliath - has so far not returned

Greymoor (Lost Treasures of Skyrim) - Antiquarian Alpine Gallery - came back as crown store item
Greymoor (Lost Treasures of Skyrim)- Historian Phedre - has so far not returned

Blackwood (Bounties of Blackwood)- Target Ogrim- has so far not returned
Blackwood (Bounties of Blackwood)- Deadlands DLC - regularly available crown store item, also available with ESO+

High Isle (Heroes of High Isle) - Statue, Ascendant Lord - has so far not returned
High Isle (Heroes of High Isle) - Firesong DLC- regularly available crown store item, also available with ESO+
High Isle (Heroes of High Isle) - Appleback Salamander (was eso+ exclusive)- has so far not returned

Necrom (Secrets of the Telvanni) - Kelesan'ruhn - has not returned
Necrom (Secrets of the Telvanni) - Apocryphal Tome - has not returned


Since it has not been consistent whether or not a 100% reward remained exclusive (or indeed was ever intended to be exclusive for even a limited time in the case of the DLC), it's impossible to know if the Dragon's Treasure Trove will ever return. Some of the smaller rewards have returned but outside of the expensive houses being sold for real money, the other big event (100% completion) rewards haven't returned. But, the lesser ones have returned such as Swap Jelly.

AFAIK the Morrowind chapter didn't have one of these 100% community completion events. IIRC that was introduced with Summerfall in 2018.

Anyway, I think if it did come back, you'd most likely see it as crown store item. Just based off the trend with the houses.

As for the torchbug, it's a lesser Twitch reward. And it's already been used twice, so there's no real reason it cannot return again.

I agree, I wasn't playing at the release of Elsweyr and I want that hoard soooo bad.

I feel you. The ONLY Jubilee cake I am missing is 2017 because another game came out and I binged on it, not really realizing at the time that Anniversary Cakes were going to be A Thing. I binged the new game for like a month, then came back to ESO. So, I played ESO almost every day before that month and after it, but since I was not there for the brief timeframe of the Anniversary event, I am forever locked out of the 2017 cake furnishing.

I figured. I should rephrase the question, it was really directed at ZOS: can [they] please bring it back at some point. I forgot if I filed a ticket already (nor know if those are looked at much by humans anyway, they must get so many)

Same here. I had to change house and it coincided with the "dragon rise" event.
We are all collectors at least zos make it avaible in the crown store for people that missed it.

Why would game creators be so mean as to make event items unobtainable again?
New players were disappointed when they found out they couldn't get the "2019 cake furniture" and quit the game.
I think it would be better to stop disappointing new players.

Not only new players. I play since beta and the "dragon rise" is the only event i missed in 10 years. This was not for lack of interest but for an impossibility to log in in that period.

All items should be obtainable with effort.

I understand that players that missed an event should put in an equivalent amount of work or compensate with crowns to support the game but please zos don't break our collection forever.
