Thanks! I would like to know how to fix this if it is on my end so i can communicate better.

Pretty sure "asian" isn't a language, if the group chat is coming up Japanese, Chinese or Korean, then the player is typing in that language. There is no translate feature...

there are no settings for this

Did you accidentally swap zone chats?

How are we supposed to tell whose language it is if we don't understand what they're saying or can't translate the message?
Asian is a culture which consists of different languages. There are also parts of the world named Asia which means this also designates a region where these languages are spoken.
But really, I think people should speak clearly and be mindful of what zone you're in instead of speaking a language that none of us can understand or again, translate. Its just a courtesy and I'm sure others on their end would expect the same from us.
I'm pretty sure courtesy is something everyone not only appreciates but comes to expect, regardless of who you are or where you live.
There are...so many things being said to break down here, but that would be derailing the thread.
There is not an official language for text chat In game. If someone wants to write in their native language, let them, if you don't also speak it its obviously not meant for you and thus, you can ignore it, even if its being said in Group chat.

I agree that everyone should not be expected to speak the same language, we are not living in the Tower of Babel.
But I do think ZOS could introduce simple phrases like: "Heal me!", "Focus attack!", "Need tank", etc.
This can help people with different languages communicate effectively on various occasions without wasting time using translation software to translate over and over again.

The expectation that everyone speaks one language isn't courtesy. I personally don't think I should expect to be able to be part of every conversation. And people who don't speak English have just as much right to speak to anyone who can understand them as English speakers.

"North America" does not mean "English Speaking Only"....there are countries in North America whose primary language is not English, and those languages are also frequently spoken on the NA server, as they should be.
No, China, Japan, and Korea are not a part of "NA", but bear in mind that the game has been translated into multiple different languages- specifically Simplified Chinese, and so we have many players who speak Chinese on the NA sever.
I don't see a problem with it. Politely saying that you do not speak their language and cannot understand them is a better way of communicating than blocking them or treating them poorly simply because they tried to speak their own language. (That comment isn't directed at the original poster, by the way, but at some other commenters in the thread.)
In all likelihood, they were asking if anyone in the group spoke their language.
I can't believe we're even having this conversation.
If its an English zone then I would expect to be seeing English.
That's it. That's the language I speak, the burden of proof for communication is not solely on me. Even when in writing, you have to consider your audience.
And if you either write something they can't relate to, or communicate in some language or manner right, that they don't understand then you've wasted your time and everyone else's.
