personally i feel that they both should get the ability to afflict any enemies in its radius with minor cowardice OR major maim and get a slightly boosted radius.
honestly yea.. like buff it to like 25 seconds and make the minor vulnerability just a natural thing it does to anything in its radius honestly is probably an even better option than my og idea... really its just too costly for like no benefit ESPECIALLY when your by yourself as minor proc is only ok AND is WAYYYYY easier from so many other sources including one of the easiest being temporal guard for permanent minor proc.
Then this skill will become useful, which I think is against ZOS policies. I think they prefer all necromancers to not use class skills at all. We don’t have an access to major sorcery/brutality, major evasion, major expedition, major prophecy/savagery, reliable stun, and you ask for major maim? Forget about it
did you not see the change to stalking bones? it LITERALLY boosted all dmg of CLASS skills and aoe dots. couldnt be more encouragement to use the class skills if i tried to find it cause thats the point and case and sure yea the maim idea was bad cause it was just my general first draft of an idea but i feel like if they changed deaden pain to give major and minor proc for 10 seconds flat out any time you eat a corpse AND have it so its a refresh rather than stacking duration as its drawback and than have at least agony totem instead ALWAYS proc minor vulnerability and than also perhaps have a synergy to proc major and minor cowardice while also boosting its duration to 20 seconds to meet a lot of the other necromancer long duration abilities making rotations and magicka sustain easier, both abilites would be SO much more useful with than remote totem i guess also would get to ability to proc minor vulnerability permanently while than maybe also still having a synergy for minor cowardice although it should stick to the current like 10 second duration as its trade off but really remote totem just needs a full rework to maybe be made into a dmg dealer morph instead cause it really just feels like thats what its SUPPOSED to be being another necmoancer ground aoe dot ability meant to be used by a ranged magicka dps who drops it on the boss from safety... like this way both morphs become useful in their own rights as you get one more class dot that will be boosted by sacrifical bones' extra 15% UNIQUE dmg buff AND this way deaden pain also becomes viable and offers something good while letting agony totem still remain more of an ability for group play BUT with very good use granting maybe like 10 seconds to that major and minor cowardice making it so thats something you can get from more than just nightblade tanks ;D

I've not played my necros for some years but I found the bone totem surprisingly useful just for its fear effect.
Without a perma pet, careful placement of this could be better than my warden bear in terms of tanking regular mobs but much less useful against bosses which is where you really need a tank.
Haven't tried it again since they added companions. It's been that long since I've played my necros seriously. Paired with a tank companion I could see it working quite well. I might check that out if I have a free moment.
