It's 2024 And The Controller UI Needs A Update (especially for PC players)

Why/How haven't they fixed this game to allow us PC players to use the Xbox controller without the UI changing? When you talk to someone using the controller you got these boxes that take up 80% of the screen! whats up with that? :( huge bottom bar just for a "Select" and "Back" button prompt? C'mon Zenimax! the games been out for a decade now, I think its about time to figure out something for the controller UI because its just NOT good compared to the PC UI, Its like night at day. total immersion breaking especially when talking to NPCs. I know I cant be the only person that feels this way?

    It's nice for us console players that play on the PTS 😅
    Add a Scribing skill that works like Arcanist beam.

    Veteran players have been alienated and disengaged from Overland since One Tamriel, due to the lack of difficulty, and pushed into dungeons and trials; the minority of content in the Elder Scrolls Online. We can't take the repetition anymore, fix Overland engagement for Vet players. I don't even care if it's not combat related anymore, just make Overland engaging again.

    Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. Make a self debuff mythic. Literally anything at this point.

    Totally agree. You are definitely not the only one, I made a post/request in Oct 2021 so we could lock KB/M UI the same as we can lock gamepad UI. Just makes sense to me to give that option. Unfortunately seems it fell on deaf ears(eyes), I'd be super happy with even a MOD that locked it in. Please please please

    I actually like the controller UI better. The mouse/keyboard UI looks very outdated to me, with its tiny font and how crowded it can be. I sometimes use it because it's easier to search for things (like at guild traders), and I'm always glad to go back to the controller UI.

    Having said that, there are ways in which the controller UI could be improved. Just outputting lists in alphabetical order would help (I'm thinking about style materials and such). Also, on things like recipes, they put whether the character already knows it at the bottom of the description, meaning you often have to scroll the description to see it. That piece of information should be at the top of the description. There are all sorts of dirt easy QoL changes like that they could (and hopefully will) make.

    Chiming in to say that better mixed input support would also be huge.

    Currently, gamepad input doesn't work without the gamepad UI as you said, but it ALSO completely changes how certain inputs work: you cannot move with the quickslot wheel open, and sprint changes to a toggle.

    I enjoy playing with a special input peripheral with an analogue stick, but outside of movement, I use KB&M for everything else. I'm forced to keep my analogue stick in keyboard mode (emulating WASD) since the gamepad mode in this game completely changes how certain other inputs function.
