Question regarding bear being dismissed on Warden.

Hey, so trying to make a wood elf hunter character with the Warden class. I would like to have the bear in one bar and the bow ult in the other bar but every time I switch bars the bear just disappears making him useless unless I just have him in both bars which seams like a major nerf to the class. Is there any workaround for this? like a set piece bonus or a way to morph it so the bear does not disappear? I love every other part of the class so really hoping there is a way to change this, so far been unsuccessful in finding anything though.
