people complaining about the compensation for being locked out of account being too much and unfair

its hilarious. even at the worst of times before this, they gave maybe a 100% scroll. I even made a joke yesterday that the compensation for this stuff would be a grandiose total of 3 100% experience scrolls. but I'm very pleasantly surprised. To the people who think this is too much, consider this:

Not only is this compensation for being locked out of our account, and being unable to test the new features and play the new content, it is compensation for being willing to test on PTS for so many years. PTS testing has almost no point for most players, it gives no reward to playtest, find and work around bugs while testing early features, and report the issues you encounter. we're doing it entirely for free. Less than for free really, the pts is *** huge and its laggy af especially for EU players like me, having to play with 220+ ping and the usual PTS lag, not to mention lately having been subjected to boxes to get gear rather than reconstruction due to the removal of the collection.

I personally also consider it a compensation for the amount of stuff we've gone through over the last few years in terms of buggy behavior, maintenences at inoppertune times, certain patches ruining my game play (ok this ones a bit subjective but still).

most of all though I just think its hilarious that people are complaining that people are getting too much, while previously complaining that people got way too little. Same thing with the orsinium DLC being free in march iirc daily rewards. so many people complaining. It's impossible to please everyone I guess, people will complain about literally anything.

For people who weren't banned, they should be happy that ZOS is taking responsibility and showing that they can communicate well with the community and give just compensation. Everyone should be hoping this sets a new precedent when a mistake is made and players have to face consequences.

Yeah that 220+ ping is relatable. I am also happy with these rewards. It does make me feel better to know that zos is actually willing to give decent compensation for mistakes such as this.

Can't agree more. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by this - and considering that people were testing the new chapter so the rest of us could see how scribing works, how the new houses look, what new things we can expect... It's a good compensation. ZOS is taking responsibility for this and it's a good change for once.

Agreed! Even if people cannot empathize with those who were locked out, they should be happy that ZOS is making the effort to make things right — next time it could be them.

I am glad people got some form of compensation. I also think that it is very generous because it is also some form of apology or something like that.

And just to be clear I do not envy or anything. I was lucky and did not logged on PTS that fateful day, simply because I mostly play on EU. During NA PTS turn I play on PTS very little as I don't have much stuff on NA Server.

it blows my mind that people can be so jealous over something "bad" happening to others! we didnt ask to be locked out when all we did was play test. the people crying over us being compensated just sounds like pure entitlement! ZOS did good this time. it definitely softens the blow.

I think they want to have an option to opt in for the ban to get their rewards.

Some players are just complaining about not receiving the same compensation for something that didn't affect them.

I'm happy. I'd be happy with less but to think that I won't have to stress myself out over how to cram all the things to do during the event in the last few remaining days is nice. I didn't expect this much. I'm surely not insane enough to demand more.

And if I didn't have to deal with the extra fomo that came with my locked account, but others. I sure as hell wouldn't complain about however ZOS decides to compensate them.

You know what else is nice? - Have a nice weekend folks!

Nah sorry I think everyone should get at least a little compensation. Crashes on consoles plus grinding 100 hours for those pages. There are people grinding since day 1 and don't have all style pages. It feels a little overkill and I understand if people are jealous.

I mean 16k endeavors, gold styles (100+ hour grind), 1 month eso+ crowns inclusive.

16k take usually nearly half a year to get.

If u buy the gems for that mount you are at 300$+.

I am not saying take it away but give everyone a piece of the cake maybe half the endeavours for everyone or sth.

Some of us have been testing on PTS for years but didn't happen to log on during that specific day, so not sure it can be positioned as a reward for years of testing.

I don't think many are against the compensation - most just frustrated about the event style grind being skipped by a subset of players because they happened to log on to PTS on day one.

I completely agree with you. As someone who was unaffected by the PTS accident, I am celebrating for the people who are getting compensated.

    +1 ZOS 👍

Basically: Having the same game installed twice and working for the company for free looking for bugs and things like that.

Just yesterday, I did the entire Scribing quest (even though it wasn't necessary to test the feature), just to look for bugs and report on the things I found. I spent 6 to 7 hours on it.

People who are jealous probably wouldn't lift a finger to try to help the game in such a way.

Whoever is complaining about this needs to understand: If they didn't compensate HEAVILLY the players, the PTS would lose a considerable number of players.

And then, when the next expansion launches, there wouldn't be as many people to test the bugs and report them. And the next content would be bugged, and we are talking about SERIOUS bugs, such as, for example, the crash in Skingrad castle, NPC's flying around the scenary, entire dialogues with voice acting cutting out.

These types of things just don't happen as much because people go into pts and waste hours, sometimes days, looking for bugs to help the game you love so much.

    Well said!

Envying people a compensation given for causing a stressful situation out of simple greed over a bunch of pixels is leaving me speechless out of spite.

If there were any doubt about how harmful those entitlelists are for any community, now it is gone.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.
