Let's get it out of the way: No, this PTS situation never should have happened to begin with, and when it did the server should have had a full rollback by a couple hours instead of locking a lot of people out of an entire week during the biggest event of the year. I stand by that, and I hope that whatever poor protocols or failure to follow them is investigated and seriously dealt with.
However, what's done is done and none of that can be changed. I was extremely vocal and vehement in demanding a promise of making up lost daily account rewards and event rewards, and grew extremely frustrated with the lack of promise and vague statements given to your community managers to pass on to us. With all of that in mind, this new promise of recompense is a genuinely pleasant surprise and truly a generous offering when considering the situation and I believe that when strong demands are made and well beyond met that thanks is due.
I do not say this often, ZOS, but you exceeded my expectations by far. Good job. Now keep up the good work by getting those accounts unlocked.
And, because I think all the frustration and harsh feelings over the past few days may have bled beyond reasonable bounds, I think it's fair to extend a genuine thanks to
@ZOS_GinaBruno and
@ZOS_Kevin as well as all the other unsung moderators and community staff who had the unfortunate position of having to be not only the face of the company but also the face of us players towards the higher-ups and developers, in addition to policing all of the heated arguments. You guys did what you could throughout and soldiered through what cannot be any easier of a week for you guys in particular as it was for us.
Again, with genuine thanks:
Good job.
