Endeavours for PC NA but not PC EU Players??? Locked out content creators can't make content either!

Hey it's Dan from Unified Gaming,

As a Content Creator - Unified Gaming, I find the whole situation extremely frustrating. It is good that ZOS has acknowledged some of the issues and are looking at solutions but they still fall short at present - especially for PC EU players.

I find that this part of their post (see below) seems to neglect the fact that many PC EU players, like myself, are also impacted and will not be compensated equally compared to PC NA players creating a two tier system. This just seems unfair and I hope was an oversight. @ZOS_GinaBruno noted "Additionally, all PC NA players will be granted an extra 200 Seals of Endeavor.".

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/656543/temporarily-taking-down-the-pts-the-pc-na-live-server#latest

The second issue is that even if you extend the the event by 2 days, the people who are locked out have been locked out for nearly 2 days already and so by the time they get in they would have actually had a net loss of time unless resolved within the coming hours - looking unlikely based on the post. This again punishes those who were eager to test things, give feedback and especially content creators who will be financially impacted by this due being unable to make content and the opportunity loss.

The other thing I'd like to note is that, I like many had ESO+ with time remaining however this was suspended and I am concerned that the months remaining (I buy it in blocks of 3) may now also be lost resulting a direct financial loss as well as potential loss due to being unable to make content until resolved. I hope this would be rectified and that no ESO+ time people have already purchased would be reinstated or refunded. I haven't seen any information regarding this and hope this is something I have missed myself - if this is the case could someone post below for my benefit.

Finally, it is nice that they are looking at other ways to compensate people for the loss of time and opportunity but I am concerned that this may be again only PC NA players given the situation with the endeavours. I hope this is not the case and trust that @ZOS_GinaBruno and @ZOS_Kevin will look into this and take appropriate actions as needed.

With all of this said, as a creator - I will have to pause content until resolved but I hope to get back into making content once this is all clear up.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank ZOS for their efforts in this, I understand this is a highly unusual situation for all and that no one person is at fault. I'd like to urge the community to be patient with the developers and understand that they are also humans with feelings and should not be subject to abuse. Everyone it seems is trying their best and I look forward to getting back into game - especially the PTS to test and make content once more.

Thanks for reading,

Take care and byeeeeeee!

P.S. I've posted @ZOS_GinaBruno 's post below to save people having to find it themselves.

Good morning everyone,

As promised, we’d like to share an update to the PC NA server downtime we had Monday night.

First, to acknowledge that many of you lost playtime in the middle of an event, we will extend the Anniversary Jubilee event by two days on PC NA and EU to allow you a little extra time to obtain any items or event tickets. This puts the new end date for PC realms on April 25 at 9:59am EDT. Additionally, all PC NA players will be granted an extra 200 Seals of Endeavor.

For those who are still blocked from logging in, we are continuing to work on resolving the locked accounts and a small number of accounts will be unlocked later today. To set expectations, unlocking the remaining accounts and performing the necessary rollbacks will require server downtime and at that point, all remaining accounts will be unlocked at the same time. The soonest this will occur is by the end of the week but we will keep you posted on the timeline.

To that end, for anyone whose accounts have been affected by this issue and are currently locked or being rolled back, we will be emailing you an ESO game code so you can play ESO (either on the Live servers or the PTS) while you wait for your main account. Please note that this is not in any way intended to replace your current account, and we are continuing to work around the clock to restore all affected accounts. We are also discussing some additional in-game items we’d like to send to those that have their accounts locked, which we will share very soon.

Thanks again for your continued patience and understanding.

Regarding the 200 seals of endeavor for the PCNA server--I believe that is because the NA server was offline for many hours that day, leaving many people without the ability to earn endeavors, regardless of the PTS issue. Since the EU server stayed up, everyone not affected by the PTS problem was hypothetically able to earn that days' endeavors.

    I don't think they intended a two-tiered compensation system.

I assume the 200 are for the thieves guild related endeavour on Monday for pickpocketing and these were lost/reset on PC NA but not the other server.

That being said, I (on PC EU) will still miss the endeavours from Tuesday, Wednesday, plus however many more days it takes to unlock our accounts. So this is like an extra 30-45 per day, plus it gives us less time to complete the weekly.

The 200 seals has nothing to do with the locked out accounts. It's about the downtime on the NA server when the PTS was also taken down.

Gina already said that locked accounts will be compensated somehow - they are still figuring things out.

"To that end, for anyone whose accounts have been affected by this issue and are currently locked or being rolled back, we will be emailing you an ESO game code so you can play ESO (either on the Live servers or the PTS) while you wait for your main account. "The game code and event extension is not the only thing we plan to do to make things right for those with locked accounts. We hope to share these details in the next day or so."

There is no indication they are going to treat locked out players differently because of what server they are on.

My account is locked out and I get that this is incredibly frustrating, because it is, and I cannot imagine how much more so for a content creator - that all sucks. Hopefully, we will see the accounts start to get unlocked later today and get more details on compensation soon.

I'm only referring to the specific 200 seals for NA, for the one day the NA server was offline for an extended time while EU was still up.

They haven't told us the entirety of what they'll be doing for the locked out accounts; to be sure, there's a lot people are missing out on. It's possible they'll include an appropriate amount of seals of endeavor specifically for the accounts that were locked out.

I think it is more the opportunity cost and that people can't actually make progress with anything. Want to farm a set can't. Want to run a trial - can't. Want to get tier 1 for transmutes can't. What about writs or daily rewards / dallies? There are lots of small losses that when combined become somewhat substantive.

I understand that the NA server being off for a few hours and that it nice that they are giving some compensation for people. I just hope that the ESO+ is also reinstated for those who had theirs cancelled like myself. It is a service I have paid for.

I agree that people whose accounts are locked are missing out on a quite a bit, most of which can't be directly calculated. They won't ever be able to compensate you for lost time, but hopefully they can come up with something that helps make up for this debacle. I also hope they give people whose ESO+ got cancelled reimbursement via extended days on their account (or however they can make it work so you get what you paid for).

I think that making sure people get what they paid for in full is the least they resolve. I know UK law has stipulations that if you don't get a service you paid for you can request a refund. I don't encourage people to take that route and give ZOS time to resolve it but it is very messy indeed.

I 100% agree that the loss opportunity and small things that you can't quantify is going to be hard to balance i.e. event tokens, dailies, writs etc. The other issue is that there are players, like myself, who don't care for the cosmetic shop. The cosmetic shop does not increase my ability to farm items I need etc. and it does not impact gameplay - I don't think it should either. As such, I only use crowns for character slots or skill unlocks on alts as that actually saves me a lot of time which is very important as a content creator.

What about those who are on PC EU who are also locked out and thus will miss it? They've extended the event. I believe you're referring to the daily rewards and so that could be fair.

A very difficult balancing act, indeed. I would think that, if they involve the crown store in the compensation, it would be better to simply credit some number of crowns to the affected accounts rather than try to settle on items that might please. That way people could choose for themselves what best suited them.

I do hope this all gets resolved as soon as possible and that everyone can get back to doing what they most enjoy in the game.

And it keeps getting better... better and better the NA players receive a 200 Seal of Aspiration. What about the EU players or is this just a communication error.
What should you do with a game code? Are all the benefits of ESO+ unlocked? craft bags, mounts lined, etc.
Hey, my account has 20 characters with level 2500. Do you really believe I'll start again from the beginning? Lost all armor from the areas, Mythical items and Undaunted.

Guys, come up with something better. That's a slap in the face to those starting on Tuesday.

This is not in any way intended to replace your current account, and we are continuing to work around the clock to restore all affected accounts. We are also discussing some additional in-game items we’d like to send to those that have their accounts locked, which we will share very soon.

The 200 Seals of Endeavor are for the PC-NA server being down for the day.

"The game code and event extension is not the only thing we plan to do to make things right for those with locked accounts. We hope to share these details in the next day or so."

The 200 seals of endeavors are not related to the locked accounts. It's about the downtime on NA on Monday.
