QoL features and ideas

Hello all,

im playing ESO for over 8 years now on Playstation and for a while know i more and more stumble upon some things that really bug me all the time. Just some general QoL things and ideas that are really missing and would make the game way better to handle in my opinion.
To put these things into perspective, they all concentrate mainly on UI/UX stuff concerning the different collection systems in the game, but also some other stuff. Also this may mainly concern the UI/UX on consoles, i dont know how some of these menues are designed in the PC version.
I put them all into the different categories so its understandable what im talking about.
I will update these things if i find more things that bug me or if you have suggestions or things to add let me know. It would be really cool if ZOS could add some of these things or atleast try to overhaul some of their design philosophy to make it easier and more fun to use.

have fun to read:) (please excuse if i dont use the right words for some things sometimes, i play in german so i dont know the names for some of these things in english, i hope you get the gist of what i mean)

Achievements
-sort by categorie:
what always bugged me was that i couldnt sort achievements by categorie. Currently they are all sorted by general stuff (main game) and their respective DLC. Im for example trying to always get all achievements of a kind e.g. all fishing achievements. Right now i always skip through all categories to make sure i have them since i cant really track it. It would be nice if we could switch the sorting so that you can see all fishing achievements grouped together, all antiquites, all companions, all dungeons (ssubgrouped by each dungeon maybe) and so on.

- show progress:
first, there is this summary field at the top, which is rather useless, because it only show the "completion bars", which you can also see if you just scroll down, so its redundant and unnecessary. Why not use this an overview of your last won achievements or as a recommendations tab on the next achievements you could try. that would also be good for players seeking out what they could do next.

second, instead of these nonsaying progress bars, why not add a "x/y" achievements unlocked behind it? or add atleast a percentage into it so you can see if its really a 100% and something is missing? also at the top you could add an overall tracker for all achievements. I really would like to know how many there are overall and how many i have. Just like in the library section with my books. This could also be added to the subcategories like general or the fishing ones, so you can see at a glance you got x of y of them done.

- achievements points, why? for what?
im an avid trophy hunter for over a decade now, so im not the one who needs to be explained the appeals of such achievement systems, but what exactly are these points for? Why not do something with it? Why not add special rewards at every x amount of points you have to incentivice getting more achievements? Or why not add the ability to compare yourself to other players? global leaderboards? or even in the guild?

- achievement rarity
another thing that would be cool if you could see how "rare" an achievement is. like in every description there is a percentage of how many players have earned this achievement (also counting in how many can actually get it, so if they have the dlc or not)

- master (or grandmaster) titel
one thing that always came to my mind was like the ultimate goal for eso, the big achievement to strive for, granting the title of maybe just "master" or "grandmaster" or whatever. There are so many master- achievements, why not make one that combines all of them? only if you get masterfisher, mastercrafter, do all quests, finsish all dlcs, get emperor and so on and so forth, you get this big reward. Currently there are like hundreds or even thousands of titles but you can only display one. And even though some of the titles may more prestigous than others, they only display your achievement in one little aspect of the game. I really like the idea of this one overall title that shows, ok you really know your stuff. Maybe you could also put in some lower tier versions to show your a master of dungeons or a master of questing, but if you have all master titles, your the grandmaster. Oh and also this is a title you wont keep forever, everytime new content is added, you have to reearn the title or something like that. Like a true no lifer achievement:D

Recipes
Im not also an avid trophy hunter, i also just really like collecting and finishing stuff by bringing them to a 100%. Either by collecting all trophies in eso, getting all styles, getting all sets, getting all books and so on. One thing that we cant really track right now are recipes for food, drinks and furnishings. Why not add a recipe library where you can see all the ones you have and all those that you are missing. There you could also again sort them by rarity, show only the missing ones, maybe sort them by zones or dungeons where to get them. Maybe you can also add like hints on how to get them like slay bosses in zone x or loot containers in zone y or buy them from vendor z.

antiquities
- kodex
adding an option to hide all leads where you have all kodex entries would be nice. i always get an item 3 times to complete it but after that im not interested anymore. Or atleast give us an option to maybe delete leads?

- filter leads by rarity.
my leads are filled with all the green ones and i always have to scroll through to see the rare ones im missing. either let us filter out by rarity or again let us remove or hide them once kodex is full.

- show progress
again as in the achievements, those progress bars say nothing, add a x/y antiquities found (overall and per zone)

- show hidden antiquities and give hints how to get them.
i find it a bit silly to hide them, we all can just google them anyway so why not show them to the players and tell them how to get them? like slay bosses in zone x

Styles
- yellow styles tracker
all purple styles are tracked in the library, why not add this for yellow event styles as well?

- combine weapon and armor styles tab
i dont really understand why these two things are split into two groups, just make one styles collection, maybe even same as for the sets, that would be way better in my opinion

- sort by style
speaking of sets, please please please give us an option to sort by style. why do i want to see all the staves i have? i want to check if i have all the pages of one style and if im missing something there. This would be way easier if i havent had to check every categorie by itself and go through this gigantic bulk of styles

- hide earned styles
another thing that would make collecting and checking styles easier would be the option to hide earned styles so you only see what you are missing. (This is something i just dont understand why all these systems are so different. please give us standardized ways of handling these systems. in achievements for example you can hide earned ones, in styles you dont; in sets you can sort by weapon type, in styles you dont; etc)

- show progress
lastly, if you really redesign the styles like the sets, maybe add a progress here as well. Group them by zones/dlcs/whatever and give them a progress again, x/y styles found, a/b styles finished, x/y pieces of a style found etc.

fragments
- add fragments for all fragmented pieces
currently there are quite a few things that you have to collect x amount of that neither have a fragment tab nor an associated achievement, so they just sit in you inventory. For example all those pvp fragments and some event ones. Please just standardize this for all and make them all consumable so they dont clog up your inventory.
- remove fragment tabs of pieces you already have
i do have all card deck for example but they still appear in my fragments section for whatever reason

set collection
- show progress
here again, progress bars say nothing, add x/y sets found, x/y sets completed in the overall tab, show x/y setpieces collected for each set you can see exactly how many you have

- let us hide earned ones
again, please let us hide earned setpieces, so its easier to see which ones are missing

- add hints to see where you can get a certain setpiece
this is something everyone can google, but maybe just add a little hint that you can get weapons from bosses, anchors etc in the description

mail
- please please please a read all and delete all function
one of the most frustrating things for the last almost decade are the daily crafting mails. Why do i have to collect them all one by one and also delete them one by one, day in day out day in day out day in day out. Why not add a simple "take all rewards", "read all", "delete all" option?

menu general
- read all function
maybe im a bit autistic on this one, but im a type of guy who really hates red numbers, notification signs or whatever. Every new item adds a marker, every new style you learn gives a notification and and shows in the styles tab, but if you delete the notification, th styles ones remains and you have to go in there thorugh the hundreds of styles to hover over it to remove it. Could you please just add a read all option in the main menu to remove all these marks? completely for collection, notifications, inventory, messages, journal

- make the collection tab a real collection.
currently the different collection systems are all over the place
- styles in collection/collection
- sets in collection/sets
- books in journal
- recipes (missing, but would propably be journal too)
- achievements in journal
- antiquities in journal
It would make way more sense to combine all these systems into the collections tab so you dont have to jump around them all. this way you can scroll from sets to styles to achievements easily.

guildtrader
- add an option to search for only unlearned styles
when searching for styles it would be nice to filter out all the ones your character already knows

- combine stylepages and regular styles into one categorie
for some reason yellow and purple styles are seperate categories so its a bit annoying to search for them, why not just combine those two?

event infos
i like that you get informed once an event is live in the character select screen and in the announcement window, but a few things to add:

- event info
when clicking on the event tile in the announcement window, instead of opening the crown store, i would find it way more helpful if it would give me an overview of the event. a windows with a text that explains what is going on, what do i need to do, what can i earn and stuff like this. Maybe even just paste the text from the website. Not everyone follows these news so this way every play can read about this ingame, without having to google this stuff. You can see at a glance what you can get, what you have to do to get reward containers, how to get event tickets and so on. This celebration event for example i didnt know for the first week that there is a mount which you need to collect 25 pieces from the reward containers, I just thought its the same as every year, you eat your cake and move on. Also i didnt know about these 5 new special style pages that you cant even buy for tickets. Would be cool to know it directly ingame

- show when the next event is coming up
so the celebration event just started right after the jester event. i didnt know this until the the next day. I just finished my jester quests and thought i was done for the day, so i was missing out on the event tickets that day for the celebration event. Some info on when the next event starts would have been helpful.

another collection that came to my mind would be an "event collection". i really start to loose the overview over all the event rewrads we got, so it would be nice to have them all in one collection or categorie to see ah this ones from this event, this is from this year and so on


inventory
im not sure if im wrong on this, but didnt they say they reworked the inventory a bit to make it easier to navigate especially when selling stuff? not sure if they forgot to do it on console but its still weird there.

- move materials down when selling
currently when selling my stuff and jumping through the categories its always switching between plunder/materials/weapons/materials/shields/materials/helmets/styles/materials...
why not put all materials right after another, all weapons and so on? would be way easier to sell stuff

- trash bag
an option to mark iventory items as trash or to put them in a "trash bag" and then sell all stuff in this bag would be really great.

- consumable items weirdly split
so there are different types of consumable things, containers, styles, recipes, fragments, maps, and they are split between those to tabs, it would be way easier if they are all in one tab?
