quest bugged out after witnessing the last glyphic memory just before ithelias prison and you cant enter the portal after torvasard, if you leave the way you come in and return again the glyphic disappears and also the portal too and it moves the animation to the previous room but the portal action queue remains in place but still cant be interacted with. totally breaks the prologue quest (the portal to the mythos spire RED one)

I have this issue - when you go to follow Torvesard into the portal to Ithelia's Prison, he just doesn't appear there. Tried backing out, dropped group (got kicked back to Vvardenfell so had to redo the whole chain) and nothing. He won't go into the place he unlocks.

Exact same thing happened to me, Windshear. I tried submitting a bug report from inside the game, but that doesn't seem to work anymore (submit button grayed out)

Same exact thing happened to me… super frustrating. Now that I’ve left that quest for a moment it has knocked me back to “Enter the sea”. Ugh 🙄

Same, just happened to me as well. I made it to entering the prison, I watched the entire scene with torv walking into the next area, but he is not there.

After leaving the area and returning a second time i encountered hermaus mora (he actually appeared this time and i was allowed to speak with him), this allowed me to continue and finish the quest. The first time i went there he did not appear which allowed to me to walk straight past him and skip the dialogue i believe this may be the problem i encountered

I think it's a bug to have this available if we are still working through the Apocrypha main quest. I picked it up without realising what it was and it was rather confusing.

khajiit had finished the Apocrypha main quest, and still has this bug stopping him from going into Mythos Spire.

Very disappointing.

Bugged at the enter Ithelia's Prison part, no show once you use the portal.

This just happened to me on my second character to do this today. I followed Torvesard into the prison but he wasn't there. I went back out and watched him go in again, but when I followed he still wasn't there. I even backed out of the portals as far back as I could and came back through them again but it didn't help. I also tried logging off and on a few times.

I do not want to go through this entire quest on this character again and now I'm afraid to start it on any others.

OK, This may help anyone stuck at the part I was, Portal out and the quest will reset at Enter the sea, in VVardenfell.

Follow the quest to you get to the part of "Talk to Hermaeus Mora" , its just before Enter Mythos Portal. Make sure you talk to it and the Ithelia's Prison part should work.

If it doesn't work, must be another bug, but talking to Hermaeus Mora worked for me as I entered the Mythos Portal the first time without talking to him.

I tried this but it didn't reset the quest. It just took me back through an empty area that I had already completed and the same thing again.

Update: I went back to Enter the Sea and it had reset this time. I was able to successfully complete the quest then.

I hope it works on my other 5 characters that haven't done this yet.

ive only done this on one character, but i didnt have any noticeable bugs or blockers while running it

there were a few times though where it felt like there was a really long pause before you could interact with a NPC for quest dialog

This quest is completely broken. I can’t figure out any way to un-bug it. Not looking good for my interest in buying the new chapter.

You may have passed this on to the team but it is the 10th of April and I could not follow Torvesard into the mythos spire portal.

OK, I went back to VVardenfell part, and got a little farther. Now it is bugged farther down. nothing happens when you go into the prison. empty.
FAIL.

So there's been no definitive, official "Fix Prologue Quest" effort on the part of the Devs yet, yes?

Kind of hard to understand why something like this happens at this stage in the game's life-cycle.

Had this issue went back to where you need to talk to Hermaeus Mora, Logged out back in was able to talk to him and then I could finish the quest

I have a different bug than mentioned here and it's also making the quest incompletable.

Leramil doesn't spawn in Mythos at the very end after the last dialogue with Hermaeus Mora. I checked a video walkthrough to confirm where she should spawn.

Going through the portals six hundred times didn't work, reloading UI six hundred times didn't work, relogging didn't work.

I tried teleporting out to walk back through, but I can't enter the water anymore. When I try to enter, it says ''You don't have this quest'' despite it being in my quest log telling me to ''return to Mythos.''


I guess I seriously have to drop the quest and redo it again, but it looks like there's several other ways it can bug itself with no fix

edit: I did drop the quest and redo the whole thing, and I encountered neither the bug I originally got nor any of the others mentioned. I didn't do anything differently other than not read the lorebooks that were around, since I read them the first time, and not let everyone's spoken dialogue play through, since I listened to all of it through the first time. I doubt any of that's related though.

I kept the quest but left the instance. WAited a few days due to wanting to do anniversary stuff, went back and this time good old hermy spawned properly and I was able to talk to him and not just get the go ahead to the next area icon on the portal.
I am going to make a guess that this is the issue, it says talk to mora but then he doesn't spawn you just get the icon to portal through and things happen but then it locks up as you never actually clicked on mora.

Its a pain to run that whole area again but it does seem as long as hermy appears it will work properly.
As a warning he was SLOW to appear, I waited a while the second time for him to pop in.

I got to the area before the last room and the guy just stood with his sword pointed at the door. Went in room and nothing. Exited and guy still pointing sword at door. Back and forth a few times and same thing.

So I dropped the quest and restarted and was able to complete it on the same character.

The time it bugged, I skipped dialog and did not complete the quest in a single run through. Read some books. Hermaeus Mora appeared.

The time it completed, I did a different order of portals, waited for all dialog, and did a straight playthrough (other than slaughtering some livestock).

Seems pretty random to me based on what others report.
