No need to redo the main quest (Cadwell's Almanac)

Hello,

I have an idea about the main quests that will make the game less boring.
It is incredibly boring to finish the main quests over and over again with the new characters we created in the game.
According to me, if we have completed the main quest of the game with any character (Cadwell's Almanac and all the non dlc zone quests), we should not have to finish the main quest again with the new characters we created later. There may be a short cinematic, an NPC, or an option to "consider the main quests completed" on the screen where we create a new character.

As someone who enjoys doing the main and side missions in the game, redoing the main mission now seems incredibly boring. And even though I already have 35060 achievement points, I don't want NPCs and black quest marks chasing me on my map. At least for the base map of Tamriel.

Thanks

Please no. I like running all my alts through various quest lines (depending on their backstories). Not the prophet MQ - did it twice, never doing it again, but I don't care if "Talk to the Hooded Figure" lives in my quest log forever on every girl. Zone MQs though, I want available for every girl I make (lots of them....)

If it's not optional I won't be happy. Yeah yeah - I know you don't care about one player....

I mean, if the quests are to be auto-completed for new alts, what exactly would one do with them? I'd much rather level up by replaying quests than by mindless grinding...

I've done it over ten times. It does get old. However, I like doing quests on alts. I don't think it needs to be altered at all. Just don't do it, respectfully.

I happily run the Main/Mages/Fighters quests on every character and then complete the alliance zones/dlcs that fit their story. I like having the option to choose the main quests or ignore as I see fit.

However, following the introduction of AWA, it would be quite nice if the zone quests completed by different characters counted towards Cadwell’s Silver and Gold instead of using my mains.

I think AWA was the worst possible major update ever in the game, so the last thing we need is more of it.

No thank you. We do not need more account wide stuff. If this wasn't optional, it would ruin the fun of this game for so many people who love to create alts and roleplay with them. And so far, they have not been good at providing options for us at -all- when it comes to this kind of thing. This concept wouldn't be so unpleasant if it weren't for the fact that we can already guess from past experience how it would be handled.

Instead, just give the people annoyed by quest markers a toggle to turn them off- we don't need our ability to quest compromised when a visual adjustment would do the same job.

With all due respect, I'd rather not have this either. Cadwell's is one of the few remaining "achievement" like things still included in the game that did not get affected by AWA, and I would rather not have it completed for me on every single character just because I did it on a character 5 years ago. This account wide stuff is really suffocating for people who would like to revisit certain nostalgic content on the same established account they already have.

    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
    Legends never die

If you find something boring then don't do it, far better that way than taking it away from those who don't find it boring and actually want to play the full game with their multiple characters.

Far too many skill points and rewards to get for free.

That said, I tried making a new character the other day with the hope of having her quest-less, went into settings, found how to hide quest markers etc, popped to Alikir and immediately got the Soul Shriven lady pop up. Gosh darn it. Deleted her. My character progression OCD means I can't ignore that quest once I have it, but I also need to complete everything else in the base game first.

I really do wish we could have quest-less characters in this game. Not every character needs to be a hero.

Give us an alternative main quest - beat Molag in duel. Then reward all skill points and unlock coldharbor.

I would just like the option to abandon the main quest like you can any other quest in the game. I know where it is if I want to pick it up and do it. I really don't like having a quest shoved onto my characters.

That would really be nice, but I don't know how you could at this point complete anything much without traveling out of the starter areas - at least, the first time I hit any zone besides the starter areas, I always wind up with the Hooded Figure quest in log.

This would also be great. Though at least I don't worry about it being in my logs forever (have a friend who is REALLY OCD....)

I agree 100% with that. IMO it was the worst decision ZOS has ever made. I have no beef with it for the folk who like it. My beef is that the rest of us didn't have the choice not to participate. It was "you must accept it" and it has made a huge impact on how I now view how the game is managed. I can never forgive ZOS for this decision. As such I still love the game, but ZOS, not so much.

Likely Sancre Tor. Sai hides it there before the events of the game. Although I believe Abnur ends up with it after its power has been used up by the end of the main story, I think Talos ends up recovering it from Sancre Tor. So it must end up back there after the main story too.

    Well put. My position exactly.
