Unexpected Internal Error : when is this gonna get fixed ?

    Hey Akasha,
Not sure if this would be true for all playforms but on PS5 the work around for this is to wait until your character is logged out after you crash before attempting to log back in.
We used to get an error (i think 303) "This account is already logged in." And then spam login hoping to join the fight as quick as possible and eventually it would let us back in once your character logged out.
Now if you log back in too early the game prevents you from getting back in and gives the 307 unexpected internal error. We have to restart the ps5 and then it usually works.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answser.

Yes, I am waiting 5 minutes for my character to proper logout, but the initial error has no explanation yet. And waiting is not a acceptable workaround, it is just what you are forced to do. This behavior appeared mid-2023, and never evolved since. Believe me, this is an issue especially when you are MT of your group, and this error happens for no reason when you attempt a no death run, or worse, a trifecta run. People won't be like "okay just wait 5 minutes and let's reset".

Actually the issue is not the 303 nor 307 error, but to be logged out for no explicit reason. The game doesn't crash, and the only error we get is "Unexpected internal error". The error 307 is only a consequence of this error.

This is a problem that should be first debugged on the server and the game client. But for no apparent reason, the technical support can not (or does not want to) check the server logs, neither do they want to know what happened on my game client. Yet, those two things are the most reliable sources of informations, and yet I'm asked to provide a msinfo32 file which will do nothing but loose time on both sides : the game didn't crash and there are no conflicting program running in the background.

Any descent support team would ask first : please check on that or that folder, you will find the .log file to attach to your issue. And if they don't find any matching information, then they can start to investigate further. They actually shortcut to the last, without knowing what even happened on the program they should give support on.

BTW, I've just been kicked out, and last thing I did was interacting with crafting dailies board.

Did you get a specific error message when booted?

Were you able to log back in successfully after the disconnection?

Please write better server side error messages. Someone at ZOS should look up why server respond unexpected and fix it or write something more relevant.

Same! This started happening to me within the past week. At least I’m able to restart the game right away and log back in without delay. For me, it happens while loading into a zone (either porting or logging onto a character) or while doing daily crafting writs. But those are also the activities I’ve been doing most of late, besides placing furnishings, and crime.

Hi! I started playing again about 3 weeks ago. First two weeks zero issues, game ran perfect. Since last week I keep getting disconnected multiple times per day with simple Error message "an error has occurred". Just this morning, when doing dungeon pledge, I was disconnected at every boss fight. When I try to log back in I get an error number 103. I sent multiple ingame bug reports.

If you receive an error message stating "An error has occurred. Please wait a few minutes and log in again." please deactivate all of your addons and try logging in to the game again. If you are now able to log in, one of your addons was blocking your access to the game. You should try enabling addons one at a time to identify which one is causing the issue.

This particular thread is something ZoS will never fix . Has been around for as long as I can remember

They like to blame the player and not realise its a server side issue

The part that makes me laugh is the errors say it's an internet connection problem .

Meanwhile any other game in the world is connected just fine

    And speedtest 100% proves it

Yeah they've tried blaming my computer earlier this year with packet loss and slow speed but my computer has 0% packet loss and we have fast internet.

A few things that might help you out. I run my own dns sever and had the same problems. I was actually hitting the query cap on my server and had to raise the limit. Depending on who your service provider uses for dns may cause your query to be blocked after a certain number. Try closing everything on your pc but the game, including the launcher. The launcher communicates with the servers every few seconds. (this is very noticeable on linux and steamdeck) Make sure you dont have any programs running in the background.(check the bottom right of your task bar where the little arrow is.) If you are still getting the disconnects then google how to change your dns server. Its very simple and wont hurt anything. Since ive fixed my dns issue neither one of my pc get disconnects like that anymore. Also if your on wifi try to plug in.

Using a vpn solved it for me. Been playing for a week with a vpn and it been working flawlessly. Tried to play today without vpn and it happened after just 30 min.

Maybe this is just a coincidence, but after uninstalling Master Merchant addon I've had zero crashes.
Maybe someone can also test this?

If login = authentication, then it's impossible for an add-on to block the login process. Add-ons are loaded after a successful login, after the character selection, when you're accessing into the world.

This is the very case described in this topic : it is impossible to authenticate again after a while, or you will get the message "unexpected internal error".

What you consider a spam is actually a complaint, I've been kicked out of the game for an "unexpected internal error" reason, on the last boss of Sanity's edge no death run, thank you for taking those messages in consideration.

I sincerely hope that is not how the support team solves problems.

For me, about every third boot is accompanied by disconnect. Then unexpected internal error. Then error 307. I need to wait 10-15 minutes to login in.

How long have you been having these disconnection issues?

Have you tried any of the troubleshooting posted above?
