Congratulations! To finally sour someone like myself on Crown Crates (CC), is quite the feat. But, after watching so many things placed in the story I would never want, nor use, and always "winning" those exact items, and NEVER any of the things I actually would like, year after year? Yeah, I've finally had enough.

What's that? Oh! I can "buy" the items I want with "Crown Gems" (CGs)? Well... yeah, after a year of saving them up, because I only get ONE THIRD, that's 1/3rd the value of a BRAND NEW item I just, "won". So, the store charges me 100 crown gems for an item I REALLY want, because actually opening crates never gives it to me- (forget ever winning that 400 CG item, say, a "Frost Robe" for 400 CG mount.. Radiant Apex?... LOL), anyway... So I finally buy it. What happens? I finally WIN it in the next crates I get!! YAY!! Wait.. I now have it... so, for that brand new item I just "won"? I ACTUALLY "won" 33 crown gems. NOT 100 crown gems, what THEY charge US for it. 33.

Ever have this happen to you on 400 CG mounts? I have. Many times. I get the ugly 400 CG mount I wouldn't be caught dead riding, because, you know, "gambling", then I wind it again! And I get? You guessed it! 132 CG's or 133, whatever it is- 1/3. I WIN, 1/3rd the value, of what anyone else who get's that magic, crazy-colored, flashing card wins?

Because I'm so "RNG LACKING", I DESERVE to only get 1/3rd value. That's not just "bad luck"? That's "My-life-sucks-so-bad-as-to-not-be-worth-living-anymore", "Bad Luck".

What it REALLY IS?

I'm PUNISHED, for WINNING something previously. For INVESTING in the game I love, for, "gambling", trying to get something I'd really like to have? Yup- I'm "PUNISHED".

And I'M THE ONE who's TOTALLY IN THE WRONG? For ever saying anything about it.

What will happen? People will come and ATTACK ME, for pointing out TRUTH. But I thought ZOS/ESO PUNISHED people who attacked other people, for nothing more than having an OPINION in America? Nope. No punishment for them.

But myself? For even deigning to MENTION this in the "forums", you know, the place where we go to rant and discuss things that bother us, or we'd like to see in ESO? Yeah, doing this is now EVIL. I'll probably be threatened with a ban, or other "things" may happen to me.

Because someone decided that what they can charge 400 CG's for? WE can only get 133 CGs for. We are the plebs- 1/3rd! That's all you get!

So I spend say... just to be kind $160.00 REAL MONEY, in order to try and get some cool things for my account. I get every single thing I'd never, EVER, buy for myself, or other low-value items, I already have, I get 1/3rd value, even though these items are BRAND NEW, NEVER USED, EXACTLY THE SAME- but someone decided we only DESERVE 1/3rd value, because we're nasty, "gamers"? So I have to save & save & save, spending more & more & more REAL LIFE MONEY- just to finally be able to buy the item RIGHT NEXT TO IT, SAME VALUE.

Hmm, that doesn't seem right... So... wait a minute! That's RIGHT! Now we have Endeavors... GREAT! All for it! "WORK-IN-GAME" for Currency to get something you really want! Awesome! And even get some BONUS one's tossed in the dailies from time to time! Wonderful!

This HAD to happen of course, because what was being done was wrong, but that's just imo, you know, because 1/3rd value isn't totally self-evident.

Takes a LONG TIME to save those Endeavors up, as well. Majority of the time? Item you were saving for? LONG GONE. Sometimes? Never to be seen again.

Hmm, seems to me, the system is still broken.

But this is just my rant, after well over 8 years of playing a game I actually do love. Have committed to. Tried to be a help in. Tried to offer advice, in order to help the company become even MORE prosperous, in the hopes the game will go on for as long as possible- (got threatened with being BANNED? For offering an IDEA, too. strange, that)- Only thing I desire? If I'm going to spend 160 bucks? I really think I should be able to get at least ONE ITEM, I was actually trying to get. Is that REALLY just, "Bad RNG"? If so, then "RNG" is a broken & outdated thing. If BAD can continue to happen to ONE PERSON- regardless if it's me or not? Then something's WRONG.

What happened to "Equality" & "Equity".. oh yeah, it's "Gambling"- so it can be defended.

Hmm, maybe... if we could just BUY the items we wanted, instead of having to GAMBLE? .... Oh, wait. That's right, how would they become massively wealthy off us pleb gamers... keep forgetting about that.

So, that brings it all down to this, I guess? I just need to learn to live without Crown Crates, and the items contained within. And so I shall.

Thank you for giving us a place to rant long enough, that we can eventually find answers for ourselves, legally, and without violating any rules, whatsoever.

This is a good explanation as to why gambling crates should be banned by law, forcing game manufacturers to implement more fair systems of rewards and purchasing options in their stores.

You're thinking it wrong.

Think them not as something to give you rewards, but to give you gems. You can't use it for rewards, not the ones you want anyway.

Agreed. Any form of gambling should be illegal in online games.

i think they should raise % of getting aprex rewards ! or at least when you get duplicated items they gives you the exact gem value so you can go and purchase what you needed ...1/3 of the value is so low because we are putting real money into crates not gold or anything that doesnt have value!

i dont mind gambling, but only if its using a "fake" currency like something in game (such as gold)

but if its real money? heck no of course it shouldnt be there

The gambling crates are still present in the game after all these years, and naturally a lot of ZOS customers have a problem with that. So it's not surprising that threads like this continue to be created.
