Achievement "Strength from Within": Does it work?

I am quite certain that I did NOT use any sigils during any of the boss fights in the last veteran Vateshran run but it did not give me that achievement.
I use synergy only on keyboard x and this is such an awkward position that it is hard to press it accidentally.
Anyone with a similar experience?
