Weapon Damage Modifier

Hi all! I'm asking this question here since i am unable to see anything in the "Weapon Skills" thread (even though i see on the right panel that there are 20 topics =/ ).
I've read that the basic damage from weapons is also modified by your Stamina. Is this true also for staves??
If so, can anyone tell me if it's based off of Stamina score or value? I'm a sorcerer with 0 points in Stamina, lvl 10 at the moment. Figured maybe that i may add some Stamina enchantments to my armor.
Any help/suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Stamina is for melee as magika is for casting. Points in your magika pool are what increase the damage for staff damage and destruction damage.

The light and heavy mouseclick attacks all use stamina as a modifier (even staves) for all weapon skills.

I'm a bit disappointed that even basic weapon attacks are modified by stamina, the reason being that if I want to be a healer I would spend my points in magika instead of stamina. Doing so would make my attacks with weapons such as swords weak. It was a favorite thing of mine to do in previous Elder Scrolls to be able to do good melee damage and heal.

While understandable it's a situation EVERYONE is in. ALL class skills scale off magicka too.
