When did they stop letting us deconstruct mythics?

Capricas_Kirito
When, and why, was the ability to deconstruct mythic items removed? I know we used to be able to do it because I have in the past.

Deconstructing mythics was absolutely a thing.

When Set Collections were implemented, I recall several guildies recreating mythics as a way of "storing" xmute stones until they needed them. The unannounced changed to this really pissed them off.

It was changed very shortly after set collections were introduced, and it was never mentioned by ZoS.

It's been a long time, I don't ever recall doing it. I wish we could. I do not need torq for any reason but I thought I did and now it's just... around... I want my transmute back :(.

Every so often someone asks this and says they remember being able to do it at sometime in the past, but I don't ever recall it being possible to deconstruct mythics. I remember the first time I collected a mythic and decided to reconstruct extras for my various alts, thinking I'd be able to deconstruct later, and being told in the forums that reconstructing mythics was not a good choice for storing excess transmute crystals because they can't be deconstructed.

I’m glad to see these comments because I’ve been questioning my memory. I’ve never been able to decon mythics and I don’t think it was ever possible. They could only ever be destroyed.

While you cannot deconstruct it to get transmutes back, you can destroy it to remove it from storage.

Deconstructing Mythics has never been a thing that was possible. And, if anything, anyone who remembers doing it had a bug that somehow allowed it. But it has never been an actual thing that should be expected to be done.
