If I plug in the controller only after my character loads, as suggested in another thread, I do not get (at least any noticeable) input delay with rezzing, trading, mounting, etc. I also don’t get double input problems, and I can use it by Bluetooth, which the game does not natively support.

I did not know that was a workaround! really handy to know, it does indeed work if I only connect the ps4 gamepad AFTER I am already loaded into the game.

Though I also found this week that if I forget and load my character with my controller connected, disconnecting and reconnecting it makes it work properly again.

That said, can’t wait for a fix. Constantly disconnecting and reconnecting the cable is just wearing down parts unnecessarily.
It actually isnt working for me anymore :/ Regardless of when I do it, it shows the playstation icons for a moment then it switches to xbox and starts dropping frames. SO ANNOYING. Frustrating that this is an issue that is still happening. I hope we get a fix sometime soon... it's weird since sometimes a workaround like you mentioned helps, but not every session.
The only way it works reliably is if I either use bluetooth/wireless or if I have it plugged into a wall outlet pfft

    That’s a different issue entirely.

    1) for the issue where the Hold inputs are taking too long (to rez, trade, mount), just reconnect the controller. This is a bug. They are investigating this and will need to fix it. It affects all controllers.

    2) for the issue where you’re seeing your PS controller as an Xbox controller and getting the double input lag, that is not a bug and so will not be fixed. You are using an input emulator that causes the game to see your controller as an Xbox one. Now the game sees the physical PS controller as well as the emulation, and that is causing your icon changes and fps drops.

Kevin offered one way forward for #2: stop running your third party solution (Steam Input, DS4Windows, InputMapper, etc.). Another solution is to run it via Bluetooth without using a cable because the native support for PS controllers only works when they’re connected by cable. A third solution is to run HidHide to cloak your physical controller from the game - that way you can keep it plugged into your computer and the game will be none the wiser. You will go back to seeing the Xbox icons (unless you use the relevant add-on to change those), but you will get the full functionality back, including rumble support.

Wow, ever since the update I can't do trials or dungeons because latency spikes and fps drops. I use a Razer Wolverine V2 wired controller (Xbox) and don't have any third party apps. Steam overlay is off. My keybinds are also messed up when I first log in. Although steam overlay is turned off, if I press one of the bumpers, it'll pull up a steam keyboard. I'm PC NA. Fps/latency also greatly suffers in any PVP fight. My abilities don't work at all anymore in fights.
